SUPER flaky sellers. Either don't respond, do respond then ghost you, say puppy is taken/gone, want a "good" fit but don't provide any info in their description don't give details? I've tried multiple sellers. What a joke and a waste of time.
Connect me with better breeders?? I tried 7 different breeders!!! ALL VERY FLAKY.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! While this doesn't excuse the delays or lack of response you experienced, many Good Dog Breeders are busy with daily care for their adult dogs and puppies, socialization activities and enrichment for developing litters, and veterinary appointments for growing pups, so they may take a bit longer to reply during particularly busy periods, like when they have a new litter.
Please reach out to our team anytime by emailing us at [email protected], so we can suggest other breeders who may be a better fit for what you're looking for, and help turn your experience into a positive one.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

No dog received
No dog received. Told breeder had surgery but it’s been 2 weeks and no updates. Paid in full and nothing!
Response from Good DogNov 5, 2025
Hi Dee,
Thank you for reaching out. We completely understand your frustration with the delay in communication and updates.
We're glad to know the breeder's husband was able to update you that his wife is recovering from surgery, and that this medical situation has made it difficult for your breeder to communicate as quickly as they normally would.
Please don't hesitate to continue reaching out to our team anytime by emailing us at [email protected]. We're here to help facilitate communication with your breeder, provide support as you navigate next steps, and ensure this gets resolved.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

Unresponsive and Unprofessional – 9 Weeks, Zero Communication
I submitted my breeder verification application over nine weeks ago and have received no meaningful response from anyone at Good Dog, despite multiple emails, voicemails, and follow-ups. The platform claims to value transparency and high standards, yet seems perfectly fine operating with zero accountability or communication.
It shouldn’t take over two months to review an application or at least send a simple update. The silence from their onboarding team is either gross negligence or complete incompetence. If this is how they treat responsible breeders who provide full documentation and proof of care, I can only imagine how little support users get once they’re actually onboarded.
Save yourself the frustration, there are plenty of better-run platforms that actually respond to the people who make their business possible.
Update to repsone
I’ve double-checked my inbox, spam, and trash folders — there were no emails from your onboarding team on July 7 or “last week.” The only messages I’ve ever received are automated “we got your message” responses, with no actual follow-up.
If you genuinely sent updates, please provide the address they were sent from so I can confirm they reached the right account. Otherwise, it’s clear this reply is just PR cleanup after nine weeks of silence.
Response from Good DogNov 6, 2025
Hi James,
We're so sorry for any confusion here. We see our team did email you on July 7th with an update on your application, and we followed up again last week to make sure you received that information.
Please feel free to respond to the emails we sent you, or email us directly at [email protected], and we'll make sure to get you the support you need.
We look forward to connecting with you!
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

I purchased a Doberman puppy from Grace…
I purchased a Doberman puppy from Grace Run Bassett Hounds and Dobermans on April 13, 2025, after an exhaustive search for a good breeder. I found a puppy, and the red flags were waving right from the start. Wanting a puppy made me less concerned about a few flags. I decided on a date to pick up and didn't hear much from the breeder. There was some confusion as to the breeder's name, as it was Savannah, but I kept getting emails from Kathy. Then, when I was on my way, I texted her to let her know I would be there in three hours; she was surprised, but we worked it out, and she told me her daughter would meet me there. When I arrived at the home, the puppy was in a crate outside alone, which was very odd. The 'daughter' did show up, and I spoke to the breeder by phone. I made payment and was on my way home. While driving, I noticed the pup had passed gas and it was unusually noxious.
After a few days, I had to text back to the breeder as I hadn't gotten any of the paperwork for the pup. I had to text again after a couple more days, and the paperwork was sent. By the way, the puppy was supposed to have been 12 weeks and, to my surprise, was huge for that age. Once I received the paperwork, I found out that he was 6 months old. His size made sense once I found out. She brushed it off as miscommunication. Also, he was supposed to have been microchipped but was not.
On May 21st, my boy (Titan) vomited up a black blob of a foreign object. It was 4am and literally scared the dickens out of me. I picked it up with a towel and threw it in the trash, then thought better of it and got it out and rinsed it off to see what exactly it was. To my shock, it was a roll of ear posts wrapped in duct tape. Four posts, to be exact, made with tampons and rolled in duct tape! I contacted the breeder (I'll have to call her Kathy, though I'm not sure what her name is) to let her know. I explained that they had to have been there for months, and I was obviously concerned. She asked me if he was sick, to which I explained he had diarrhea and was just laying around but seemed okay. She advised there should be no concern if he was fine, explaining that she'd seen dogs throw up socks "forever later" but never an ear post.
The next day, Titan got very ill. I had to rush him to the Vet ER because he had very liquid diarrhea, vomiting, and was shivering. The poor pup was very sick. They took x-rays and gave him some meds. They had to rehydrate him and asked that I return the next day, which I did. They took another set of x-rays and found that he would be fine. All in all, this visit cost nearly $2K.
After a few days, I asked the breeder if she could offset some of those costs since it happened while the puppy was with her. I paid for insurance when I got him, so I figured maybe I could have the insurance pay for some of these costs. I didn't hear back from the breeder, and after a couple of weeks, I reached out to Good Dog. They had the breeder contact me, and at that point, she stated that she didn't get a message from me. NOT SO! I had sent several messages, and she ghosted. Good Dog, on the other hand, answered quickly, but in the long run, completely took her side. They did offer to refund me the cost of the microchip ($40), though I paid far more than that at the vet because he had to be sedated.
This went back and forth for quite some time, and I decided to go through my credit card company to file a complaint. After much ado and back and forth, I was able to recover the cost of the dog to offset the veterinary bills. I put in so much work to find a reputable breeder only to find a terrible one who wouldn't take responsibility for an occurrence that happened on her watch. Then to have Good Dog not listen to me makes me wonder who else has had a rough go. Thankfully, I will never have to use them again, and I urge anyone looking for a puppy to avoid Good Dog as a source and most certainly, never purchase a puppy from Grace Run Bassett Hounds. I do know that she's no longer represented by Good Dog, so maybe there were some consequences that I don't know about. Good Dog is not so good for people paying thousands of dollars for a purebred dog and seems to only stand up for the breeders. NEVER AGAIN! After Good Dog's reply: The claim made with my credit card company was successful so there's that! People reading this: Don't be ripped off by Good Dog or their breeders. To be fair, I'm sure most are just fine but when there's a problem, you can bet that Good Dog will not support you only their breeder! Terrible doing business with them. Glad it's over.

Dear Janet,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how stressful veterinary emergencies can be, and we're glad to hear Titan is doing well now.
We take all concerns seriously to uphold the standards of our community, which is why we conducted a thorough review of your experience when you reached out to us a few months ago. As part of that review, we looked closely at veterinary records, correspondence between you and your breeder, and conversations with all parties involved.
Unfortunately, based on the timeline and documentation that was shared with us, the breeder would not have been able to assist with an incident that occurred approximately one month after your pup left the breeder's care.
That being said, we do know how stressful veterinary emergencies can be, and we continue to wish you and Titan all the best.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

Beware and do your homework before purchasing through GoodDog and your breeder.
The breeder, Tanya Villa, ANGELHEARTS Yorkies lied twice about the dog I purchased. Kermit was, in fact a year older than actually represented in her ad AND after being lied to once, I decided to do a DNA, through Embark, to verify he was 100% Yorkie. The results indicated he is 23% Maltese and 77% Yorkie. She needs to change her name to ANGELHEARTS Morkies. After notifying her of the age discrepancy, Tanya said she would take Kermit back if I took him to NY. How could I part with a 5 lb. bundle of joy. He is like my child. Now, the second lie comes into being. I have written her asking for a partial refund. She doesn't even have the decency to contact me. I am disappointed in GoodDog, as they refuse to support a customer who has proof of deception. The only positive thing I can say about the transaction is, I won the battle because I couldn't have gotten a better, more suited, and loving little dog, but I lost the war. It was a hard lesson. I hope Tanya and Good Dog employees can sleep well at night.

Hi Joanne,
Thank you for reaching out again. We’re glad that our team has been able to work through this situation with you, and as they shared with you, we thoroughly reviewed the veterinary records from both your veterinarian and the breeder's veterinarian, as well as your radiograph report and the information shared during the puppy placement process. Based on this review, the available records align with a reasonable estimate of Kermit's age at the time of placement.
Regarding the test results, we understand you'd like to share these with the breeder. As our team mentioned on October 6th, we've provided instructions for uploading your report so you can continue working with the breeder directly
We understand that your breeder offered a refund in exchange for returning the puppy, which we know wouldn't be something you'd want to consider given the bond you've formed.
We genuinely wish you and Kermit the best, and we're glad you've found such a loving companion.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

I purchased a Pomeranian puppy through…
I purchased a Pomeranian puppy through the Good Dog platform from Sandy Aussies and Poms, this breeder sold me a dog with a known genetic defect that she failed to disclose. In my opinion, this breeder is motivated by profit, not by love or care for the breed. This became evident when, despite at least five communications after my puppy was diagnosed, she never once acknowledged or disclosed the issue.
She also misrepresented my puppy’s eye color, which is not a major concern but shows a pattern of deception to make a sale.
All my claims can be substantiated through text correspondence both on and off the Good Dog Platform
I found this breeder through the Good Dog platform, which unfortunately did nothing to hold her accountable. They also refused to publish my honest review, preventing other potential buyers from being warned.
It’s extremely disappointing that Good Dog continues to protect and promote a dishonest breeder rather than supporting transparency and buyer protection.
BUYER BEWARE.
In response to Good Dog
Thank you for responding, but your reply doesn’t accurately reflect my experience. Good Dog has not resolved this situation or held the breeder accountable.
This isn’t simply a “disagreement” — I was sold a puppy with a known congenital defect (bilateral cryptorchidism) that the breeder failed to disclose, despite multiple communications before pickup. The “options” offered to me were either to return my puppy after bonding with him (which is not reasonable and disingenuous as I believe she made the offer only because she knew I would not return the dog to her under any circumstance ) or to accept reimbursement for only a small portion of the surgery cost caused by this undisclosed condition.
I can tell you had I been advised, I would not have accepted the puppy, but I did and am now committed to him.
Good Dog has chosen to protect the breeder rather than the buyer, even refusing to publish my honest review on their platform. There has been no real accountability or transparency here, only deflection.
I stand by my review: Good Dog failed to protect me as a buyer and continues to endorse a breeder who was not truthful. I’m sharing my experience so other potential buyers can make informed choices,

Dear Lina,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We want to acknowledge how difficult and frustrating this situation has been for you. We’re glad that our team has been able to work with both you and your breeder to help find a path forward.
We understand your breeder has offered some different options to reach a resolution, and that our team has been here to help facilitate that conversation. As we've shared with you, we encourage you to continue to work with her directly through the Good Dog platform as you decide which option you’d like to move forward with.
We're here to support you every step of the way and are available anytime you need us.

Hi Pattie,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
Every breeder in our community must pass our screening process and meet or exceed our community standards, including our Breeder Code of Ethics and our minimum health testing requirements before joining Good Dog. After breeders join Good Dog, we have routine check-ins to ensure continued compliance with these standards: https://www.gooddog.com/standards-and-screening
We've connected with you previously to discuss how your breeding program aligns with our platform standards. While we determined it wasn't the right fit at this time, we wish you and your dogs all the best.
About Good Dog fees:
-Breeders only pay the 6.5% service fee when we successfully connect them with a Good Dog buyer they choose to work with
-Buyers can always choose to pay with zero fees by choosing to complete their payment via an ACH bank transfer. If a buyer prefers to use a credit or debit card, a processing fee goes directly to our payment processor, not to Good Dog.
-Our Protection & Support fee is optional and provides buyers with payment protection, training resources, and expert support. Buyers can always choose to opt out of these benefits.
About sales tax: We're legally required to collect sales tax in accordance with state regulations—this isn't a Good Dog fee.
We hope this answers your remaining questions and wish you nothing but the best.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

Breeders vet themselves!! Not good
This company allows breeders to vet themselves. The breeder I chose for my puppy, Valerie from MI. sold me a puppy that upon delivery was a month older than stated and has TWO genetic diseases. One is leggings calve perthis ( big $$ surgery) the other is genetically very shallow knee beds. More surgery needed after healing from the first hip surgery. Don't get me wring..I love my dog enough to fix him when she denies the genetic causes. Her DNA testing is thru embark online so basically she could use any dogs saliva to pass. Some backyard breeders are being represented on this site. GOODDOG.COM also erased all of the messaging between buyer and breeder immediately following my reporting her. Fortunately I took screenshots. Run!!

Hi Tina,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We want you to know that our team is actively working with you through this situation. We understand how stressful it's been to deal with your puppy's health issues, and we're committed to supporting you through our review process.

We also wanted to let you know that your message history with this breeder is now fully restored and accessible on your Good Dog profile.
