Gooddog.com is greedy!
In my experience and opinion Gooddog use to be good then they got greedy! Do research for yourself, they are good talkers to make themselves seem so great but in reality they allow backyard breeders to post mixed breeds and don’t care about living conditions of dogs. Now they are kicking off breeders who they feel don’t bring them in enough money. They have taken away a breeders ability to see contact info on the buyer and vice versa, so now breeders can’t screen buyers, they are requiring all contact stay on their app which is extremely inconvenient for most breeders to shuffle through their text messages and gooddog trying to determine which buyer contacted where. They charge over 200$ on top of the breeders fee as a processing fee and taxes as well as taking 6.5% away from breeders. They are also now kicking breeders off who they think haven’t been accepting enough payments through them. This site has turned into a mess! They change their rules every few months. Dont throw your money at a greedy company who doesn’t care about its breeders, find your breeder through social media, local breed clubs, AKC marketplace and puppies.com. Your breeder works hard for their efforts to be discarded merely by greed. If you search online with ripoff report for gooddog.com you will find similar reviews showing photos of how gooddog allows fluffy frenchies, doodle and mixed breeds as well as breeders who are allowed to raise their puppies in metal farm feeding buckets, that’s no life for a puppy and the fact that gooddog support This is sick! If I could upload pics here I would.

Hi David, Thank you for sharing your feedback. When breeders decide to join Good Dog, they agree to our community standards, including our On-Platform Payment Policy. This policy is how we protect buyers from scams, ensure breeders are paid securely, and maintain the trust that makes our community work. When breeders take payments off-platform, it puts buyers at real risk and undermines the safety of everyone in our community. We also invest significant resources into bringing breeders qualified buyers through marketing, vetting, and a platform built specifically to connect responsible breeders with families who value what they do. The deduction you're referring to supports that investment, so we can continue bringing breeders quality applicants that they want to place a puppy with. Good Dog is one option among many, and we know it isn't the right fit for every breeder. If our approach doesn't align with what you're looking for, we genuinely understand, and wish you nothing but the best. Warmly, The Good Dog Team
