The breeder did not provide any documentation the puppy received a vet check-up. She does DIY puppy care: deworming, vaccines, etc. When bringing this to the attention of the company; they act like they could care less. Stay away from Silvermist Australian Shepherds breeder.

Hi Camille,
We’re glad that a member of our Care team has been able to work through this situation with you, as well as communicate with the breeder on your behalf.
Please know that our team, including our on staff veterinarian, has taken your concerns seriously and carefully reviewed this situation to ensure our standards and policies were upheld, which our team determined was the case here. As they shared with you, it’s in line with our Community Standards and policies for breeders to administer vaccinations and deworm their pups.
We hope this answers your remaining questions, and wish you and your pup nothing but the best.
Warmly,
-The Good Dog Team

Good Dog Guarantee - NOPE
Put a REFUNDABLE deposit down a puppy PLUS paid for the Good Dog Guarantee. When the breeder did not have a puppy that met the criteria we discussed in writing, I decided not to proceed and asked for a refund. The Breeder then stopped communicating. Good Dog did intervene to get the breeder to communicate with me very briefly, but the communication was that the breeder had changed her mind about my deposit being refundable, in contradiction with our written deposit agreement and her listing on the Good Dog website. When I asked for the Good Dog Guarantee, Good Dog said they supported Breeders changing the deposit rules at any time for any reason, because the breeder's placement criteria was more important than mine. I would recommend saving your money and skipping the Good Dog Guarantee and avoiding this platform.
Response: Although Good Dog claims a team member worked through the situation, it was clear this individual had not reviewed the the evidence I provided, had not reviewed the transcripts on the platform, and was not interested in considering the evidence which included receipts, text message screenshots, and the breeder's original listing on the Good Dog website, all of which showed the deposit is Refundable. The breeder has now changed her Good Dog listing to state that all deposits are Nonrefundable, likely on Good Dog's advice, and Good Dog is sticking to their Misinformation campaign. Luckily, I have screenshots that date prior to this change. Good Dog claims there is a contract, however, they have repeatedly refused my requests for a copy of this alleged contract, and the only one appearing on my Good Dog account is a template with multiple unfilled sections, which nobody signed, and which does not address the deposit.
Although Good Dog's guarantee explicitly includes scenarios "following payment made from a Buyer to a Breeder, the Breeder fails to deliver a dog or refund payment per the terms of Buyer’s agreement with the Breeder", in my experience, it is not real. I hope other people can learn from my experience and avoid being taken advantage of by the costly Good Dog Guarantee like I was.

Hi Hilary,
We’re glad that a member of our Care team has already been able to work through this situation with you and answer any questions about the non-refundable deposit that you completed. As they shared with you, our team carefully reviewed the deposit agreement, and determined that the breeder is in compliance with our Community Standards & abiding by the terms agreed to in their contract at this time.
Every Good Dog breeder has their own payment policies and contractual terms that govern their deposit and purchase agreements with buyers, especially around whether a payment is refundable or non-refundable. We encourage puppy buyers to choose a breeder whose policies align with what they feel most comfortable with, because we do honor the policies that a breeder and buyer agree to. Contractual terms are the only transactions covered by the Good Dog Guarantee, and you can always read more here: https://www.gooddog.com/help-center/owners?a=The-Good-Dog-Guarantee---id--K4NN3ZKDSOyO3buACI2ebw
Please feel free to reach out to us if there is anything else we can do to help, or if you have any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

GOODDOG LIES. THEY DO NOT VALADTE THAT THE PUPPIES THEY REPRESENT HAVE BEEN CHECKED OUT BY A VET,HOWEVER THEIR WEB SITE CLEARLY STATES. VET CHECKED
I went through GoodDog to purchase a French Bulldog. The puppy’s page showed the breeder Balboa Kennels, sex, weight etc. and that the dog was checked out by a veterinarian and was in good health. GoodDog then gave me the breeder information and I communicated through GoodDog with the breeder Balboa Kennels. When it came time to put down the deposit, the breeder said to just pay him directly as I was meeting him in 2 hours. The breeder Balboa Kennels was supposed to bring all the health records and AKC papers when we met, he did not. He said he would send them to me. To date the only thing I have received is the AKC paperwork 3 months after I picked her up.
I took the puppy to my veterinarian 1 week after receiving her. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur with only ½ of her heart functioning. I called GoodDog to inform them of the situation and they said there was nothing that they could do. I also reached out to the breeder and they said they had no responsibility either. My puppy is currently at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine having surgery to repair her heart. Balboa Kennels and Gooddog have not only refused to return my money they also refused to help pay for any medical costs.
Do NOT believe GoodDog’s advertising. The following is taken directly from their website.
Standards & Screening:
Breeders apply to GoodDog through an online questionnaire. The application is then vetted by our screening team to ensure compliance with our community standards.
Our screening department comprehensively considers many aspects of a breeding program……Physical health of the breeding dogs and puppies
Physical health of the dogs:
We also look to make sure their breeding dogs and puppies receive the regular and specialized veterinary care and nutrition they need.
It seems this breeder was not properly vetted and that GoodDog does not require proof of the stated puppy’s health. If GoodDog does require the breeder to provide proof of the dogs' health are they actually vetting the veterinarian(s.)

Hi Thomas,
Thank you for reaching out. We’re glad that a member of our Care team has been able to work through this difficult situation with you.
As they shared with you, given that you did not complete any transactions to this breeder via Good Dog, we are unfortunately unable to offer assistance with refunding transactions that occurred outside of our platform.
We take enforcement of our standards incredibly seriously and have a process in place in which we conduct an independent investigation of all complaints in order to ensure that our standards are enforced consistently and fairly. As a result of our investigation, this breeder has been removed from our platform.
We hope this answers any remaining questions you may have, and we continue to wish you nothing but the best.

They charge me twice for the fees
They charge me twice for the fees, once with the deposit and again with the final transaction. I pick up my puppy soon but I would not recommend using this site unless you like paying more than you expected!

This company does not prioritize health…
This company does not prioritize health testing and ethical breeding practices like they claim. Those with "Preferred Breeder" status have paid for that title. It is all about the money with good dog.
Response from Good DogJul 9, 2024
Hi TC,
Thank you for reaching out. We’re happy to share more information about Good Dog’s approach to health testing and our Preferred Breeder program that may be helpful.
Every breeder in our community goes through our screening process and must meet or exceed our community standards, including our Breeder Code of Ethics and our minimum health testing requirements, before joining Good Dog.
Preferred Breeder status recognizes Good Breeders for their loyalty in choosing to place their pups on Good Dog, and their dedication to supporting Good Dog buyers. Good Breeders cannot pay for Preferred Breeder status, and instead earn the special recognition by meeting the program criteria, which you can learn more about here: https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/preferred-breeder-program
We hope this answers your questions, but please do not hesitate to reach out to us anytime by emailing [email protected] if there’s anything more we can help you with!

Good dog is not real and is a scam
Good dog is not real and is a scam. They try to advertise as a trustworthy site just to gain people trust just so they can scam you.

The breeder name is ReelRidgeGoldens in TN good dog or the breeder would not take responsibility that the puppies have a congenital defect good dog should make it a priority to test certain defects for the parents of the puppy I advise not to use this breeder thru good dog
