Simple and easy to use. I love the instant feedback when a sensor is tripped.

I’ve got Notion as a promo with Lemonade insurance. It took over 2 months to arrive. I’ve finally received it today. It’s pretty easy to set up but it’s quite disappointing! I was expecting to have the option to have the sensor make a sound when a door is opened. If I’m sleeping and someone enters my house, getting a notification on my phone won’t help! What’s the point?! Then they advertise it as being able to add several tasks to the same sensor but that’s not exactly it. You can only add 2 tasks and not any tasks. For example, for the door, the only options are temperature and leaks. I live in California so temperature is not needed. And leaks is useless when you have to install it at the top of the door! Then the one for leaks allows you to include smoke detector but the leak sensor needs to be in the floor and the smoke detector in the ceiling. So I’ll probably get a new system from scratch. This is useless… even if free!

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that we missed the mark on your expectations for the Notion sensors! Our team is constantly working on updates and improvements to Notion and your feedback can directly help us prioritize new changes that we have coming soon. Regarding alerts from the system, we hope to release some updates to critical alerting soon. Make sure you stay posted for changes in our newsletter to be the first to know. Separately regarding the task limitations, we like to say that Notion needs to "feel" what it's reporting in order to send alerts for that thing. This does mean that some tasks are not compatible with others as you have noticed. We know that many users enjoy the versatility of the system, particularly that you don't need to purchase specific versions of the sensor for specific tasks. I hope we can convince you to give Notion a second shot. Any time you have any other feedback to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team. Best, Julian @ Notion

I would give it 5 stars if the app gives me more control over how I want to be notified for one type of sensor, like for water leaks vs a Garage door sensor. Since Water leaks are more serious, I should have the ability to ask the app to text me for instance, so I can take immediate action. Are you all working on something like that?

Hi Rauf, Thanks for your comments! Our team is constantly working on updates to Notion systems and your feedback will be really helpful when we prioritize the next round of updates. These specific alert settings that you described are definitely something that our team is interested in adding. Stay posted for updates from our newsletter as soon as we have anything to share. Best, Julian @ notion

My notion system worked for about a week before one of my sensors died. Customer service told me that they were going to send a new sensor 3 weeks ago. I haven’t seen it or heard back from them after I inquired about what was going on.

I always get false :inaccurate notifications on my front door

Hi Kelly, Can you try re-syncing the sensor? From the home page of the mobile app, click on the task that needs to be resynced. Click on "settings" and click "Sync task," then follow the on-screen prompts. If the false alerts persist after re-syncing, can you please share a picture of how the sensor and magnet are installed on the door? I can take a look at the configuration to make sure that everything is aligned alright.

I like that they send me stuff for free to improve their door sensors if it's not functioning correctly.

I still can't believe how easy this system is to use and setup. They also offer complimentary fixes (including shipping you equipment accessories) when the equipment itself does not function correctly within your home. I could not recommend this product more highly.

The Notion system is very easy to set up and use. I just added three new sensors to my system and it was easy as 1-2-3. One capability that I wish the system had was a little more flexibility in the notifications. Currently you can set the system to send notifications when you are at home: yes or no, when you are away: yes or no, and at night: yes or no. I would like to be able to set the system to send notifications when I am at home, but only during the period I set as “at night”; for example, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., but as it is, if I set the system to send notifications when I am at home, my phone is jingling at me whenever one of our exterior doors is opened, which is excessive. Other than that, I am very happy with the system.
