Took my 500$ for nothing...

Total scam of a website. They allow "captains" to list whatever boats they want and show full availability. Then after you pay the "captain" does a bait and switch and says the is not available. They offer another boat that is smaller AND more expensive. Then when you contact customer service for getmyboat they say they can refund you in 5-10 business days....so now I'm out $1500 for that time or keep sifting through a bunch of scammy captains.

We booked a boat for 4th of july. The hours we wanted were more expensive but we didn't know this cause the inquiry and quote we got back was for a different price but upon messaging the owner said to bring cash for the extra. We ended up canceling cause it felt shady. But cause we were trying to plan this in under the 10 day refund windiw we still got charged the partial payment of 372. We sent screenshots of the owner trying to get us to book outside the app and they still wouldn't refund. Do not recommend.

We don't need another platform service that takes zero responsibility but takes your money. Horror stories upon horror stories of people getting canceled on last second not being refunded and get my boat having absolutely zero liability for anything. Just another group of useless losers who want to make money off of other people.

I booked a yacht tour via "jesse" in toronto for my wife's 40th birthday. I had 15 of her girlfriends, including 2 pregnant women. It was the most bewildering "experience" and he thoroughly scammed me. I vetted the website, getmyboat.com and jesse's profile, which seemed very good. He had 4.9 stars and many good reviews. When the day of our tour came, jesse's yacht came to pick us up in trillium harbor. He was strangely followed by a small black boat. The four men on the small boat all wore all black uniforms that read "security" on them. As soon as this boat pulled up behind jesse, his boat immediately turned around and pulled out of the harbor, never to return. He left 15 moms including pregnant women totally stranded in 33 degree heat. The men in the small boat then strangely also tried to sell me a yacht tour. They told me they were the "security" for the marina and reported to the police. I then called the toronto harbor police. They informed me that jesse is an unlicensed yacht operator without docking permits in the city. The second boat is a rival company that seeks to film Jesse. They wish to catch him doing something illegal with footage so he can get fined or more. Jesse was not even remotely apologetic later. He was upset when I gave him a one star review because he said it was unfair since we didn't get on the yacht. I will remind him again - getmyboat.com asks me to rate my "experience" with jesse, not the "boat ride". If you book with jesse, there's a chance that he will not pick you up at all because what he's doing is completely illegal. And he's completely unlicensed and unsafe. Trillium harbor/coronation park mini harbor (beside national yacht club and the closed ontario place) doesn't even allow passenger pickups. Want proof - you can look at the signs yourself. Beware of "Jesse."

Dolly This is our second time on Punta Cana using the get my boat and this time around was a horrible experience for a birthday trip. We started late and ended early, we expected to be on the water 3 hrs only to get 2 hours. The experience getting on the boat was unorganized and caused my anxiety to kick in to the point I never got in the water. I understand this was a busy holiday weekend however you should never overlook the importance of good customer service and customer service satisfaction.O

KEITH ON LAKE NORMAN NORTH CAROLINA IS A SCAM‼️⚠️VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Extremely Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience – Do Not Recommend My friends and I — a group of women healthcare workers — rented this boat for a birthday celebration and were extremely disappointed by how unprofessionally the situation was handled by the boat driver, Keith. We drove two hours from out of town to Mooresville, NC, with two full SUVs and food prepared to enjoy a relaxing day on the water. The boat was advertised as including a grill and a bathroom, which made it ideal for our celebration. The person who booked the boat kept Keith updated every step of the way, including when we were leaving and when we were expected to arrive. Unfortunately, he stopped responding entirely once we told him we were on the way. Not thinking anything about it…because he could have been preparing the boat or even enjoying his day before taking the boat out, we decided to continue our trip and make ways down there. Just ten minutes before our scheduled rental time, Keith abruptly canceled the trip due to a passing summer rainstorm. We had been watching the weather all day and even asked him if the small storm would affect the trip — again, no response. The rain itself was very short-lived and mild; we even called another marina in Mooresville (“Stay and Play”) who told us they were still sending boats out/ not canceling any boats - because it was just a typical summer storm. Mind you- when we arrived the lake was full of boats and jet skis!!! Despite this, Keith refused to let us board, was rude and hostile over the phone, and aggressively reminded us that we would not be getting a refund. He claimed he “couldn’t control the weather,” yet he was the one who canceled — not us — and he made no effort to delay or adjust the time even though conditions improved shortly after. What made it worse was how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt after his hostile attitude toward us on the phone. As a group of women, we no longer felt safe or welcomed to be on a boat with someone acting so aggressively. We were left sitting in our cars eating the food we prepared for the trip, disappointed and frustrated after weeks of planning and anticipation. To be denied a refund for a cancellation that was out of our control — and made unilaterally by the driver — is unacceptable. I would not recommend this service to anyone. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy was shocking. This experience ruined a special day for our group, and we sincerely hope others are spared from the same treatment. We had no clue this would happen to us due to all his good reviews…but now, we want to spare others from losing their hard earned money and time from Keith!! If I could give no stars I WOULD!! This is absolutely unacceptable and no one deserves to go through this!

DO NOT RENT WITH KEITH on Lake Norman. He was very unprofessional, cancelled our reservation for a group of 12 people at the last minute, the time of our reservation all because of a little rain.. 1,100 dollars was spent for this and he did not offer a refund or any type of compensation for this matter. He was also extremely rude when discussing this matter. Stay far away!
