Recently purchased a number of Products
I have recently purchased a number of items from the company. One was as a replacement for a collar which disengaged on the woods. Maybe that was a good thing for the dog... A few days after the two Bouviers sported the collars I found a nasty tick on one of the dogs eye lid. The dog had been recently at the veterinary with my wife who allowed the vet to treat the dog with Bravecto. I understand the Ticks (and fleas) are not simply deflected should they attempt to jump on your pet. But this sucker had a firm grip and we removed successfully. Poor dog. So how do I rate this? I think brushing after a walk and physically checking your dog over is still the best way. I am strongly opposed to the pharmaceutical poisons Veterinarians (and doctors) prescribe. I think the side effects to all drugs make me just want to endure the affliction "as is" without treatment. I am giving this a chance as the dogs are wearing the collars and I await delivery of the tick repellent boxes for the collars. I would be happy - never had fleas except after grooming!
Response from FurLife™Jul 16, 2024
Hi Tom, Thanks for your honest feedback about your experience with FurLife so far. We understand your frustration finding a tick on your dog after using the collar. Here's how FurLife collars work: Repellency: The natural oils in the collar repel ticks and fleas, making them less likely to jump on your dog. Killing Power: If a tick or flea does latch on, the collar should kill it within hours or days. It's possible the tick you found was already on your dog before the collar had a chance to work. We completely understand your concerns about using prescription medications like Bravecto. However, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian about the best approach for tick prevention in your area, especially considering your location and the prevalence of ticks. In the meantime, we're happy to hear you're giving FurLife a chance, and we hope the tick repellent boxes provide additional protection. Regular brushing and checking your dogs after walks is always a good practice, along with using a flea and tick collar. We hope this clarifies how FurLife collars work. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.
