We HIGHLY recommend this product. We live in a rural area with big trees, small lakes and swamp land, which means lots of different game animals wander through our 2.5 acres of FENCED property. The fence doesn't stop one of our dogs, he will leap the fences and he's off for the chase. Findster gives us a warning that he has left the fenced area and in which direction he's headed. That is so helpful, not having to do a 360 search.
When ending the "Walk" there is a map to show where he's been & how much ground (miles) he's covered.
Want to track your dog & keep him safe? This is the product you need.

We love our Findster system
We love our Findster system. We live in a rural area on 5 acres and have a dog that is an escape artist. She can climb fences and she breaks through our underground fence zone even though she has the stubborn dog collar. We have had Findster for a year now and it alerts us when she leaves the designated perimeter and it does a great job tracking her even in the woods and in somewhat hilly areas. If we didn't have Findster we would have to put her on a chain. The system isn't perfect (occasionally we get false alerts and sometime we lose connection) but it works as designed over 90 percent of the time. Also, their customer support has been responsive to the two minor issues we have had. Bottom line: we think it is a great product and we are loyal customers.

My deaf pup can wander thanks to Findster.
My Australian Cattle pup (11 months old) is utterly deaf. He hears nothing. Consequently (living on heavily forested "bush" in Southern Tasmania) we worry if he wanders into the bush with no means of getting his attention or knowing where he is. We have a fenced house yard & he accompanies me to the shed outside the fence.
Now with Findster I am learning to make full use of it & starting not to worry when he darts into the bush to chase the scent a Pademelon (very small kangaroo).
Early days so far but we are thrilled we discovered Findster.
Thanks.

I don’t go out without it!
I bought Findster over 2 years ago. Functionally I’m very happy with it and it gives me confidence that if my dog does a runner I will be able to find them. Not having a monthly fee is big bonus.
I’m had minor issues. The Customer Service is exemplary. The locking mechanism on the collar attachment has failed twice. The tiny spring inside has rusted and broken. If your dog goes in water, remember to wash it.
I would have no hesitation buying again.

Findster rocks
When I chose the Findster I took into account the intial cost, any ongoing costs, the customer support/ helpline and most importantly the accuracy.
Accuracy
The unit as I understand it uses satellite signals and GPS to display on a map on your phone where the dogs are in relation to you. The map can be expanded to see where they are more accurately. There is also a radar system which can be used for searching much closer and it was this that I used to find the lost unit having got nearby using the normal system.
I have 3 units which I use to keep track of some of my dogs when off lead. I have found it to be very accurate in letting me know where they are when they have been exploring for a little too long or it's dark or foggy . I tried two different makes on the one dog on the same walk to compare and the Findster was far more accurate.
The Findster works in wooded areas where there are no phone signals unlike some other brands and when one module came off in the woods, I returned 4 days later and used my phone and the Guardian to locate it in an area I didn't even know my dog had been to and about a mile away from where I thought it might be. I was so impressed, had that been a dog lost and trapped I am confident that I would have found her.
Occasionally the signal drops out but a warning is sent to your phone and I then take a screenshot of the map of where it says the dog was at that time in case the dog has gone down something like a rabbit hole. This way I would at least know their last location. However, on each occasion, the signals have returned after a short time.
Cost
The Findster has what appears to be an intially high cost but once purchased there are no ongoing fees .I got 3 for about £200. The other make was £50 for one but then almost £50 per year in fees so for 3 it would have been dearer on the first year alone. Even for one, the Findster would have been cheaper by the 2nd year . Although the price may seem a little steep, they have offers on for multiple units
Customer Support
If there is a problem,(as in a lost unit) I have found Findsters online support service to be brilliant, they reply quickly and keep in touch until the matter has been satisfactorily resolved, a rare occurrence these days. I sought their advice when I realised I had lost a module, followed their advice and found it and they requested that I let them know of any damage. It had come off because a "lug" inside the mounting had broken and Findster then sent me two replacement mountings free of charge. One module had problems connecting and again, a replacement was sent within days free of charge. No quibbles, no blaming the customer.
I would highly recommend both this product and the companys customer support
