Blatant theft plus non-existent customer service.
Have had PM IRAs with HAA/GBI for well over a decade and it's always been a pain to send random fee cash amounts through Entrust to GBI so that storage fees won't be pulled from our government limited tax advantaged IRA contributions. While trying to change our address (also a huge PITA) I was briefly excited to find that they now allow you to have storage fees charged to a credit card instead, which SHOULD have made life much easier. We set up our credit cards with GBI (which was yet another PITA requiring multiple calls and customer service interventions) and were assured that when our existing fee balances reached zero, our storage fees would be charged to our credit card. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. Instead GBI stole our tax advantaged IRA contribution cash to cover fees BEFORE charging our credit card. When I logged in as silver pulls back into the $50s again, I found that my IRA cash was gone. I scheduled a call with Sidney Glent to discuss this travesty today, 10/20/26 at noon because (1) I want my IRA cash assets back, (2) I want to make sure this is corrected going forward and (3) if they are stealing from all their clients' retirement assets BEFORE charging storage fees to their clients' CCs across the board, the class action lawsuit and brand reputational damage could be company destroying and warrant my moving all my assets out of this company. It's now 1:00pm and I haven't heard from Sidney despite 2 direct follow up emails, nor from anyone at GBI despite forwarding my scheduled call confirmation to their broad customer service email and requesting a call. My next call will be to an attorney to begin initiating discovery on a class action lawsuit. No one should be doing business with this company until they get their act back together. Also, their storage fees seem to be near the high end of the industry... but at least you get absolutely NO customer service for your money. 😄🤦 This is just embarrassing. Their "Trust" is being "pilot"ed directly into the side of a mountain 🏔️.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we’re sorry. You’ve been with us for over a decade, and this experience fell well short of what you should expect from us. You were told that adding a credit card would route your storage fees to the card. We understand why you expected that, and why it was frustrating to find otherwise. We also regret that your scheduled call on 10/20 wasn’t honored and that your follow-ups went unanswered. That’s not the standard we hold ourselves to. We’re reviewing how card setup, recurring billing, and the timing of fee charges are presented to clients, because we recognize this process isn’t as clear as it should be regarding your particular experience. Your feedback is directly informing that review. A senior member of our team has reached out to you personally to discuss your account and next steps to better understand the situation Thank you again for your honesty.
