Just. Started 14 dat trip, venice hotel had fixtures that have not been updated since 2008. Ac worked ok but it was 96 outside.we then went to Lucca and on to hotel plaza del popplo. Weather is 96 degrees and room ac really doesn't put out ac. Fells like it's just a fan. Give it one day but. I will never book gate1 again they have go6ne down hill

Our group of 6 family members went on the 10 day tour of Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria in March of 2026. We met our guide Veronica and our first impression was that she was very gracious and cared about each and every one of the travelers. Veronica was patient and understanding. Our bus driver Marek was superb. I really can't say enough about his performance. We really felt safe in his care. The hotels were all very comfortable and the locations were convenient. I loved that the tour was all inclusive but still provided us with plenty of free time to break out and explore on our own. Veronica was extremely knowledgeable in all the regions that we visited. Every local guides were wonderful as well. This was me my husband's first trip with Gate 1 but we will definitely continue to travel with them in the future and can't wait to go on our next trip with Gate 1!

I have now taken two trips with Gate 1 and both experiences were exceptional. Each tour guide was so knowledgeable, and put extra effort into making sure we were comfortable, safe and happy. I also really have appreciated the quality of the hotels that we are staying in. And all the extra effort the staff puts into handling our bags as well. I now know why so many people have done 20 or more trips with Gate 1.

Our tour manager for the Essential Poland tour did the bare minimum and it showed. According to others who had done many trips with Gate 1, she was not the standard they were used to. Anything out of the norm, such as my husband not feeling well on one of the tours and wanting to stay on the bus to wait, really flummoxed her. She had no solutions and seemed very defensive and annoyed at the changes in plans. She talked non stop about her healthy lifestyle and healthy food choices instead of giving us insights on Poland. We did not pay for a health food tour! So much so that it became a running joke in the bus. We had a couple several hours long bus rides and she barely talked at all during them, making the time go very slowly. She instituted the rotating bus seating, which most of us hated. It ensured you were stuck sitting near the same groups of people each time, while others that you had made a connection with, were sitting elsewhere. In addition, there was a VERY sick man on the tour who coughed constantly. It was said he had congestive heart failure, and it wasn't catching. Others complained to her about him, and her solution was to sit them away from this man, which meant others like us, we're stuck sitting near him the whole trip. She never insisted he get medical attentiom and a clearance to be in close quarters with others or insisted he wear a mask. My husband came down with pneumonia and several others in our tour fell very ill with upper respitory infections as well. The tour could have been very enjoyable, but the tour director did not once go the extra mile, which made it not as good of a trip. Will probably not give Gate 1 another chance. The group dinner the last night was clearly an opportunity for her to get her tips, which we did not give her. We never really felt like she tried to gel the group together, so we never really felt a commraderie with most of the folks. We wished we had skipped the final dinner with terrible food and worse service. Complete waste of time considering it was a 45 min bus ride each way. Really? No restaurants in the center of Krakow we could have gone to? From my understanding, the group manager picks the place. Once again,she failed.

Was sent a discount code. For 2 of us amounted to $1600 for a rivercruise in Portugal. Found a travel group that was also going as well so I compared prices and both were the same with and without the discount code. 16 months later, Gate1 now said the discount code now was ineligible for the discount and I must pay $1600 more. I cannot backout now since I brought other sonto this cruise. Very disgusted abd feel "bait and switched". The cruise is not cheap and the error was theirs. Will not use this sub=par company again. Sub-par travel but not the sub-par price they claim.

We booked a trip to Dubai for October through Gateway 1 Travel. Due to the escalating unrest in the region, we no longer feel comfortable traveling there. Safety should always come first, yet Gateway 1 Travel has refused to allow us to cancel our trip for a refund. We have asked for a travel credit, however, a credit is only valid if all travelers from the original booking travel together on a future trip. This policy is completely unreasonable and makes the credit far less useful. To make matters worse, some members of our party purchased travel insurance, only to learn that concerns about traveling to a region experiencing armed conflict or significant unrest are not covered. That defeats much of the purpose of purchasing the insurance in the first place. We are extremely disappointed by Gateway 1 Travel's lack of flexibility and compassion. When travelers have legitimate safety concerns, companies should work with their customers rather than hide behind rigid policies. Based on this experience, I would think twice before booking with Gateway 1 Travel again.

Well organized and a great tour guide. Provided enough free time to unwind.

We traveled in May on a stay and explore trip to Denmark with Gate 1. The trip itself was excellent. My complaint is about the return trip home. We were booked from Copenhagen to Paris and then from Paris to New Jersey. We had to be up at 3:30 in the morning to get to the airport. We found out during the week that other people on our tour had a direct flight home which left at noon. As a repeat senior traveler, there should have been more consideration given to us. When I contacted the company about this, they blamed my husband for not questioning the information initially about the flights. If we had known there was a direct flight I would have asked for it for sure. Very poor form on the part of the company.
