GameFlyReviews of gamefly.com

They won't post any of my reviews. They won't recognize any of my ratings either. I think they are trying to shield certain games from criticism. It is like you are not allowed to have a negative opinion on certain games. No problematic language is being used, Even still problematic language in reviews will keep said review from being submitted, and get this, they won't even tell you what language was considered problematic in the first place. If they are trying to push a fake, cheap, or a knock off game, then no criticism is allowed . You can't even report reviews for lying straight up about a game. Update: The game in question was Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD 2d remake. Update: Here is my review: I am sick of this! Another review for this failure of a game! Sorry folks, but this site isn't posting my reviews for some reason, if it goes through then great, otherwise these failed review attempt are getting to be frustrating! I nwill not be gas lit any longer! I will also post it on trust pilot too! GAMEFLY FIX YOUR BROKEN SITE or fire your staff! This game is a collection of two and it happens to be a game that is currently being scalped on Ebay. As for the game itself dragon quest one has been ruined beyond all hope of repair! In the original game, the Green Dragon and Axe knight, have been turned into official bosses, of course, the Axe Knight was given 2700 hp, and the ability to one shot kill your character. He can also ignore the ability Cop-out. whenever he feels like it. They added other bosses as well most of them result in you sitting there for hours on end spamming Cop-out, which is to say get ready for HOURS OF BOREDOM! Dragon quest 2 lost a lot of the charms that made it great, both games, which were originally made for exploration, have had the freedom sucked out in service to the story! You go where they tell you to go, and when. The story structure makes them linear which means, Not fun. If you want these games wait until this collection gets to around $20-$30 price point. Otherwise don't bother. NEW Update: they finally posted the review. But now I got a new problem, Wu Chang fallen feathers has not arrived, I reported it missing, and they apparently sent me another copy, I am waiting for its arrival. I will update My score, as well. This review will be revised when this Wu Change problem is resolved.

Im just about 3 months in and having a really hard time justifying the cost. Contrary to other reviews, my experience with customer service has not been bad. They have helped me to understand the reason for a delay or a discrepancy in my queue. My main problem is the shipping time. I've had to contact customer service for not seeing a game I've returned leave my queue two plus weeks after mailing back to them. I see now that one game is showing "lost" and another is still pending return. During this time you are waiting for your next game to be sent. So if you are a responsible person and value this service, you send the game back as soon as you're done with it. But while you don't know who's hands it goes through on the way back and no tracking to follow that I know of, when they are not showing receiving the game back after two weeks, you have to wonder, is someone stealing them? Are they becoming lost in the mail? And mostly, do they think I'm stealing games? It just puts you in a bad position because you have no way to show you've mailed them back. In my experience the fast return feature hasn't worked on all games. Granted, because of the lag I've only received 3 or 4 games in 3 months. At this point I've been waiting for games 3x as long as having them. I believe I would be right in saying that most of us would be willing to absorb the extra charge for a better shipping option. This could be an extra cost for Gamefly, but if the reviews are any indication, that extra cost would mean very little to save the companies reputation and or life of the company.

I’ll change the star rating if GameFly comes through. After reading all these reviews I’m not so sure.. I just activated my account on Wednesday June 12th. Picked some games and hoped for the best not knowing what to expect. This morning I got antsy to see if there was any progress and maybe have a shipped game.. To my surprise my #1 spot game was shipped! On the 10th of June??? How is this possible?!?!? I feel like I’m being bamboozled or GameFly has some serious glitches…. Either way I hope I actually get the game!!

GameFly is dead. They barely have any series X games. Dragon Quest XI is a popular one and they don’t have it. They barely have any Series X games. They used to have a huge library years ago. Seems like they are barely hanging on.

Like most other people, I think Gamefly is pretty bad. I wanted to start renting Blu-Rays so I signed up for the 2 movies at a time plan. Unfortunately, there's no way to browse the entire Blu-Ray catalog without signing up first. I signed up and was shocked at how few Blu-Rays they actually have for rental. Almost everything is marked as TBD or coming soon. Now I know why they didn't let me browse the catalog first. It's because they hardly have anything. I can't speak for the game rental plans, but the movie rental plans are awful. I haven't really had problems with the turnaround time like many others, the discs have arrived relatively quickly but what good is that when they only have a few movies available for rent? I'm cancelling after I receive the last 2 movies in my queue.

It takes forever to get games. You mail in and it takes 3 to 4 days. Then they receive it and do nothing. Then after 2 days they mail you another game and it takes another 4 to 5 days for some ridiculous reason to arrive. That's a 1 week turnaround for a game even if you keep it just 1 night. At that rate, at most you could rent about 4 games per month for "1 game out" and 8 games a month for "2 games out". Worse yet, they NEVER have the new releases.

Overall, the site is fine, it's a legit site. The service you pay for is complete garbage though. I live in Idaho and my shipment store is from California, it took 5 days for the game to get to me from when it was shipped. When I returned it, it took 3 days. Then, since I didn't have lots of games in my queue, I went 2 weeks without getting a single game, because they were "low availability" If you're looking for a site to get games to see if you like them even 2 months after they're released, do not use this service. It took 1 week for monster hunter to ship to me, even after the game was out for almost 3 months prior. It is just not worth the money you have to spend to wait weeks in between games.

My son lost 2 games he was renting and immediately reported it. We have very strict rules that games are not allowed to be taken from the house but he stuck 2 3DS games in his pocket anyway, and took them out while volunteering at a local park. The games were not actually lost but stolen from him by an older child, so he learned his lesson. Once he finally told me what happened (2 months later), and that he did report it (which he did, I checked the email account associated with it and saw the old notice) I expected to see the bill for those games on my bank statement, but when I finally checked later I found instead they just kept charging me the monthly fee $24.99. Confused as to why they were still charging membership, as they clearly received notice of the games not going to be returned, I cancelled membership immediately. For one month, no fees were charged but after that they went right back to charging me again. I sent an inquiry, about how they could charge me for 3 additional months when they knew the games were not being returned and had been reported lost. They told me I didn't reply to their reply (???), so they just kept charging me, which is just insane. How many times does it need to be reported? Once should have been enough. They also told me I didn't cancel, when in fact I did. After the insulting response, I called my bank and had them blocked immediately. Now they are sending me emails stating I have 2 games out and they will report it to my credit report. No kidding! I HAD 2 games out, which were reported "lost" so months ago, and Gamefly happily kept charging membership anyway without sending anything new. So go ahead, Gamefly, since you sneakily took from my bank for months after the report was filed, I paid for those 2 games already, and I have no problem disputing any BS you put on my credit report. Other than that nonsense, delivery is very slow. I never thought it was worth it but I originally believed it was the best way for my kids to try games. I was wrong. It would have been cheaper to simply buy them used.
