My iPad was in the most perfect condition as it was rarely used and the inspection noted damage reducing the offered price. Obviously it would be a hassle having it shipped back so I agreed on the reduced offer however i feel it’s a scam and won’t use their service again.

Was quoted $107 and they got back to me and only offered $12. Same feeling you get when you have that shady mechanic trying to get more out of you. Would not recommend. I should also note that the condition of my item in my opinion is not what is described by Gadget Salvation because that was not the condition when I sent it to them. I’m not a computer genius but I know what a unresponsive keyboard is. I wanted to make that clear since they commented on my review. Doesn’t really change anything that they replied to my review. Still questionable actions by them.

Matt, we are sorry to hear you feel this way about your transaction. The reason why your laptop was counter offered $12 is its condition after the evaluation: 2014 Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W - Compromised motherboard: has damaged keyboard connector port - Air bubbles under the display touch digitizer - Missing multiple screws. The keyboard was completely unresponsive, due to the broken port, and the touchscreen was faulty as well, this are major issues, as the motherboard will need to be repaired and the screen replaced (both expensive parts). It also seems that your laptop was attempted to be repaired, yet, online you stated your laptop was in good cosmetic condition and fully functional, that's why you received a quote of $107. Had you selected the issues your laptop had, the website would gave given an accurate quote. We understand that sometimes is hard to detect certain issues, such an unresponsive keyboard, but issues such a defective display (your screen shows visible cosmetic flaws) or screws are missing on the bottom case, are issues that need to be certainly stated in order to get an accurate quote. In any case, we acknowledge that a small percentage of users will misrepresent the condition of their devices. Our business model takes this in consideration, that's why we offer free returns. We do want your complete satisfaction, and if we cannot offer a fair price for your device, there's no reason why you should be held responsible for the return shipping cost. So as per our free returns policy, your laptop is being sent back to you at no cost. Once again, we are sorry the transaction didn't go as you expected. We would also would appreciate any further feedback that could help us improve our website calculator and/or our services. Please do let us know if there's anything we can do for you.

Their determination of the "condition" of your phone\laptop is somewhat dubious. I feel like they entice you in with promises of $ and once they have that they go "oh not so great, we found this or that", some which was never an issue. Then they low ball you. Not too thrilled.

If I could rate lower I would. They tried the wrong item number crap on me and then the damage they claim it had was pure bs. Telling me the HD does not respond, keyboard wont work.I turned that certain computer on and it signed on to the net and worked fine the keyboard needed replacing but that was it, Damage they claim was there was not and an original payment of 143 went down to less then 30 dollars. They things they claim were wrong were so far off.I am demanding my laptops back from them. I would like to comment on the fact the laptops were not in that condition when sent they had normal wear and tear. I am not the only person who ever had issues with this place. I am getting the laptops back and this issues needs to go no further. Changes have now been made to this posting I remove stuff that they asked me to remove and I have. The matter has been resolved we can all move on now.

Tami, we appreciate your feedback, however, we must disagree with comments above. Unfortunately, your devices were significantly misrepresented online, which resulted in quote adjustment. Two out of four laptops you sent in had liquid damage. One arrived with cracked screen. And the Sony unit is way too old, and does not qualify for a trade-in (customer picked wrong model online). We would like to share an album with photos of the discussed above laptops, to show others what types of mistakes to avoid when obtaining a quote online: https://goo.gl/photos/2SAkRxddJfkpWqKn9 All four laptops have been already sent back. Regards, The GS Team

Had a newish laptop with a small crack on the screen, and didn't totally boot up, and wanted to get rid of it. The offer of $27 was okay.. for a $1200 computer and I sent it in, and they reevaluated it and gave me an offer of $4. I only took it because I didn't want the hassle of dealing with it any further. The $27 was rough, the $4 was a joke.

The quote they gave me for my used laptop was much higher than the amount the actually offered when they received it. They should have provided more details on how to evaluate my computer so I could accurately assess the condition. For example, my battery was totally functioning but apparently it had too many charge cycles so they counted it as non functioning. Nowhere on their website did they tell me to check the charge cycles, so how was I to know that was something I should report to get an accurate quote? They also mysteriously said my wifi and DVD player weren't working when they both worked for me.
