Bought a new 4410 featherlite trailer . Side door opened by itself once. Pulled over shut it scared me to death. Thought it was my fault. It wasn't because it did it again. Door got destroyed. Featherlite says not there fault door opened on it on. They say engineer says no way door can open if shut properly. That's BS!!. If you have any issues with your featherlite trailer first thing they want is a picture of underneath rear corners . If there's a scratch they say . Well your trailer has been Dropped and Dragged so can't warranty it. Mine has no scratches. So beware of featherlite trailer warranty it's useless.

Post-sales customer service is awful/non-existent. Dealers are stuck in the middle, and can't help because Featherlite corporate is completely unresponsive and unwilling to help. I've been waiting for 6 weeks and counting for a common replacement part. Featherlite won't respond in any way (phone, email) to inquiries about when the part will be shipped out because "they only deal with dealers", but my dealer can't get any information out of them either. What's the point of buying a Featherlite if you can't use it when something breaks? Very disappointed and frustrated customer.

I have purchased two, very expensive, custom built Featherlite trailers in the past 5 years. The spring in the lower hinge of the spring-assist ramp door broke on the first trailer after only 3 years. I contacted Featherlite and was told that part was not covered under warranty and furthermore, has been discontinued. They gave me the name of the supplier of that spring and essentially told me "you are on your own"--on a 3 year old, $15,000 trailer!!! I contacted the supplier and was told by them that the spring was no longer being produced and should have never been used for that ramp door because it was not heavy enough to support the weight. In my book, that is a manufacturing design flaw! When I pointed this out to Featherlite, they had no intentions whatsoever of making this right--absolutely none! They suggested I convert the ramp door to cable-assist, at my expense!! The second trailer I bought from them was approximately $10,000 and the roof leaked the very first time I pulled it in the rain. Also, one of the lugs snapped off for some unknown reason (I had approximately 1500 pound load on a 3500 pound axle). I contacted the dealer who sold me the trailer (Rod's Power Sports in Lincoln, NE) over a month ago with a couple follow ups since and absolutely nothing has been done! My rep at Rod's blamed Featherlite for not getting back to him. I have yet to be contact by either the dealer or Featherlite for any sort of remedy. This is completely unacceptable. If I wanted crappy trailers and service, I would have bought something out of the parking lot at Home Depot. They love selling expensive trailers but will absolutely not follow through if there is any kind of problems after they have your money!

FULL STORY!! In 2006 I bought a new 2006 aluminum Featherlite stock trailer. Owned with no problems for years. I traded in the 06 for a New 2018 Featherlite aluminum stock trailer. Recently I had 8 different types of trailers at my place hauling calves. OUT OF all 8 trailers my 2018 NEW FEATHERLITE stock trailer had by far the hardest rear sliding door. NEARLY impossible to slide!!! This a poor design and I am looking at trading this new trailer for a different BRAND!! FEATHERLITE DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR DESIGN!!!

I bought a very expensive trailer from what is supposed to be the best all around trailer. I was unfamiliar with the dot and mc carrier laws after i purchased the trailer i relized it was way over rated for me and i would need a cdl lic to drive the truck and trailer combo. I called and asked if i could have the trailer underrated and have the gvw lowered and was told it was not possible. I called the dealer and ask if they would trade me out of it for lower gvw trailer and was told sure and they offered me 30k for the trailer that i bought a month prior for 44k. I was prepared to lose some money but that was crazy. I called sundowner and they told me if i bought one of their trailers they could gvw it for what i needed. So at this point i have a 40 some thousand dollar yard ornament i cant do anything with. Pretty sad i cant get any help so that i can use a trailer that i bought and it has to sit here as i continue to pay monthly on it. I own thre very succesful harley dealerhips and would never treat my customers the way that ive been treated in this whole deal. I have a 2017 two horse straight load trailer. It is housed inside my shop when not at horse shows. Gets light, regular use hauling one horse. It would be in mint condition, if it wasn't falling apart. The skin on the inner and outer part of the escape door on the right side is slipping out of its frame. It is not even 2 years old. Featherlight won't warrant it because "they don't manufacture the doors" (apparently they didn't start the "3 yr warranty" until after 2017 anyway). This is a problem obviously due shoddy workmanship. I now have to purchase a new door. Besides this, the latch strike plate system on all the doors is horrible. The phillips screw loosens, the strike plate moves and then you find yourself driving down the road with the door flapping open, or begging a screw driver off a friend at a horse show. I finally got the dealer to get them tightened so they don't do this, but that should never have been. Finally, who in their right mind would include plastic as a part of the hitch? - especially one that is not easy to get securely on the ball.

Business beware As a small business owner do not do business with Featherlite. They order from you and do not pay. Do not support a company like this. Im disgusted in the way the treat there vendors. Example of the big company sticking it to the small business.

Not happy at all!! The dealership we got it was from rude and arrogant. Maybe some extra detail to planning and laying out the living quarters would be great. We bought ours brand new and here are some but not all the issues: We found that its not user friendly. The kitchen cabinet above the sink on an angle limits your use of space because no one can reach back that far on that angle. With that angle you reach to wash dishes and you hit your head on the cabinet because the location of both the cabinet and the sink to far out/in. The towel hanger right above the mirror is silly, it blocks use of the mirror. It needs to be relocated. The sink in the bathroom is so far back you literally have to bend down, turn your head to a 90 degree angle sneak your head slowly under the cabinet so you don't spit all over yourself or the floor. The sink is so far back it's almost impossible to be used. The hot water tank didn't work as well as the air conditioning was broke. Issues with it staying on Heat Electric as well.
