Choosing Four Season Guides for our trip to the Grand Canyon was the best decision! The entire team was extremely communicative before our trip to let us know exactly what to expect and to quickly answer any questions that we had. I cannot say enough nice things about our guide, Jeremy. He was so knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon, patient with everyone in our group, and made amazing meals for us each day!

Great communication leading up to trip from Dave. He provided helpful information and made minor adjustments based on our requests to arrive at South Rim a day early. On the trip itself, we could not have been happier with Bob - he was an excellent team leader. He adapted the pace based on the needs of the group and kept us all going. The meals he prepared were healthy and outstanding quality. Bob also had great suggestions for what to do on our “off” day and led us on a really nice hike into the Box. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and we are so grateful that we were able to get it in.

Hiking the Grand Canyon with Four Seasons Guides was AMAZING! Matt Rehm was our guide and he made even the most challenging parts entertaining and fun. Matt knew just how to push us to make sure we got the most out of our hike. He not only gave us lessons in history and geology but also in kindness and spirituality. Never have I worked so hard and felt so at peace. Thank you for everything, we will be back!

Hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon has been on my bucket list for several years. The Phantom Ranch is located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and is a dream overnight location for outdoor enthusiasts. The Ranch is run by the National Park and stays are limited by permit since there is a finite amount of bunk space there; During my trip, I met people that had waited 7, 4, 6, 2, 3 YEARS for permits. Four Seasons Guides took care of the permitting process at the Ranch which made my dream of 'choosing my date' and 'going now' to the Ranch possible. From a cost perspective, Four Seasons Guides is more competitive than larger tour companies like REI. The guide was knowledgeable and professional - he came prepared with microspikes for our boots, hiking poles, a first aid kit, and plenty of snacks to share. While we were at the Ranch, one of the Ranchers described our guide as a 'child of the canyon' - with 15 years of experience leading Grand Canyon trips, we were in good hands. His relationship with the Ranchers was helpful in setting up accommodations, getting meals lined up (food was ample and delicious), and receiving preferential treatment. Four Seasons Guides took all of the planning and guess work out of my trip. I simply booked a flight to Phoenix, a rental car to drive to and from Flagstaff, and a hotel in Flagstaff the night before the trip (met the guide that day to go over logistics) and the day that we hiked out. Easy as can be. My pack weight ended up being about 15-20 pounds depending on water level; The Ranch is equipped with power, flushing toilets, showers, and basic toiletries so no need to carry several items needed for tent camping. I spent two nights at the Ranch hiking in on South Kaibab and hiking out on Bright Angel - there are even some facilities along the way in case nature calls while hiking. I would highly recommend a trip in February - we began our hike in a snowstorm with zero visibility and a mile down the trail BOOM the Grand Canyon appeared and we left the weather behind to hang on the rim. The Ranch was not full to capacity at this time, Spring breakers hadn't begun to litter the Canyon, and we had the trails and rest-stops to ourselves. If you are wondering if this guiding service is worth the money, I would say that it is worth every single penny and more. If you are debating whether or not to do one night or two at the Ranch, do two. Your body will thank you and you will have the opportunity to slow down a bit and enjoy your stay in the Grandest of Canyons. If you are choosing between the Grand Canyon and another National Park, choose the Grand Canyon for its awe inspiring views, serene contemplative quiet time, and for the physical challenge (bragging rights) of the walks in and out.

Had a wonderful experience hiking the Grand Canyon Winter Rim to Rim Backpacking Tour. I would highly recommend Four Seasons Guides - from the start of registration to the follow up email their service was above and beyond. Bob was our guide and he was fantastic - he made sure we were very well taken care of. Looking forward to my next adventure with Four Seasons Guides!
