Sketchy Company
This company appears sketchy. Initially intrigued by their product line, I thoroughly read through the website and found a number of questionable claims. Such as "a group of scientists tested our products, and then asked to buy them all. We said no.' On another page it said Proven by Doctors. A blog that appeared in my feed was clearly a fake: something called Anna's Skin Care blog, where she touts the products. There is no Anna - she's AI generated. There are several like examples of misleading information. I wrote to the company and asked for answers. Who was this group of scientists? Dermatologists? Chemists? What was their background? Proven by doctors? Which doctors? What had they determined, and proven? They claim the plants in their products were used by Viking handmaidens centuries ago, giving them beautiful skin. Really? Where's the data? If consumers want to buy these products based on a fanciful story, as opposed to products which are the result of years of research and peer reviewed data, well...go ahead! I need facts, and when I wrote to the company asking for them, they responded by assuring me they were all about transparency, and would provide me with the information I asked for. I never heard from them again, despite a second request. I did note that they took down the 'group of scientists' claim, as well as Doctor Proven. They also added links to information about the various plants they use, which does not add up to the efficacy of their product. It's simply info about the plants. Potential buyers should also carefully read their money back guarantee, something that appears to be anything but. I worked in the fashion and beauty industry for years, including market research, and I recognize companies and products that seem scammy. This is one of them. I have forwarded my correspondence to the FTC, asking them to get the answers I was unable to get. In short, caveat emptor. These are expensive products, and consumers would do better to buy from a company with a legitimate history in skin care, with a reasonable money back guarantee.
