A subscription scam! It’s not made clear there is a minimum order number - be wary! Acting illegally
So far this has not gone well. I ordered a subscription set which I received 2 days ago. Upon opening the box and investigating the products and ingredients I realised they wouldn’t be suitable for my skin. I tried to cancel my subscription but was told I couldn’t because I hadn’t met the minimum subscription??? I contacted Froya and asked them to cancel it as the products were unsuitable but they also say I have to have at least 2 orders before I can cancel. This is not made clear anywhere on the purchase page. It just states you can cancel pause or edit if you choose the subscription. It does not say anywhere before purchase that there is a minimum subscription so please be aware of that before you proceed. I have asked for the contract to be cancelled under the legal 14 days cooling off period so I will update once I have received a response. * response received* they ignored my request regarding the cooling off Period and they said they will not cancel my subscription even though the products aren’t suitable and instead directed me to some small print buried in the terms and conditions outlining a minimum subscription of two orders . This is illegal. According to USA federal buyer protection law, regarding subscriptions, they are legally required to tell customers at the point of sale if there is a minimum subscription required which was not done. There was no mention made of this whatsoever. This is not allowed. Full transparency is a legal requirement. It isn’t enough to list it in small print. They are legally required to inform the buyer under The Prenotification Negative Option Rule. This was absolutely not adhered to and thus is not enforceable. So at this moment in time this absolutely a scam and I will investigate taking this further with the relevant authority. *further update. After sending the above information to them they have agreed to cancel the subscription. They did point out that the price is lower when starting a subscription because they base the pricing on getting at least two orders - which is fine and understandable, but this is not made clear during the purchase process which is not legally allowed. They need to state this when you are choosing the subscription option. I wouldnt have signed up if I had known you had to buy at least two orders as I like to trial a product before committing especially at £78 per order. A lot of other reviewers seem very happy with the products and as such this two order business wouldn’t therefore be an issue but this subscription process does need to be legally clarified for instances such as mine. And I found the customer service abrupt and dismissive which isn’t professional in my opinion.
