No trust. Chunky Beef and Carrots Roll now contains lots of ... CHICKEN. There's a chicken recipe if you want that for your dog. My dogs, like many, have chicken allergies. Older packages just had beef listed until you dug down through all the ingredients. Now it's listed clearly "3.2 lbs. Beef, chicken, and chicken parts. Chicken is a lot cheaper than beef, eh? The price keeps going up anyway. This is the last purchase. Home cooking is safer and healthier. * After reply from Freshpet: Uh uh. No admission about changing the recipe to save money. No apology for making my fur babies itch or exposing them to ear infection. Just a pitch to try a different product. SMH. THE TRUST IS GONE.

My 10 month old boxer/pitbull mix refuses to eat it. He used to love his breakfast when I gave him his grain free kibble then I started mixing it with the FARMERS dog and he ate that - but slowly - and when I transitioned him to fresh pet - Well, he just lets it sit there half the day until he’s starving. I’m so disappointed. I don’t understand why he’s not interested except maybe it has more vegetables in it than meat? Also, please note that I followed the directions over two weeks and mixed the food slowly with the old food - I did do all of the things in the company's response so please don’t respond and act as if I did not follow directions. I totally did.

Every dog has their own taste preferences, and sometimes a change in texture, aroma, or ingredients can take some getting used to. If you’d like to try again, we recommend transitioning slowly over 7–10 days by mixing a small amount of Freshpet with his current food and gradually increasing the Freshpet portion. We also offer a variety of recipes with different proteins and vegetables across our other brands like Vital and Homestyle Creations that may be a better fit for him. I am CONTINUOUSLY getting ripped off by this company. 7 out of 10 5 lb logs are short. EVERY SINGLE one is weighed at 8.0. The last one is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS short. The latest one is weighed at 6.6. I have left a review before and got a response from the company. A RUDE RESPONSE telling me I was wrong, that my scale is wrong. I have taken yet ANOTHER picture showing last weight... smh. So annoying

Hi Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to reach out regarding your concern. Freshpet has implemented several measures to ensure our products comply with weight requirements. There is an inline check weigher which weighs every roll. Due to variation in packaging on a high-speed packaging line, there will always be some packages slightly over and some slightly under the declared packaged weight. There are strict definitions of a legally underweight package, and our checkweigher will kick off packages above that weight so we don’t get too close to the underweight limit. We are also required to measure the average of the weight across the lot, and that weight must come out AT or ABOVE the stated label weight. This prevents running all products on the low side of acceptable. We conduct quality checks hourly, removing rolls from the line and weighing on a different scale to ensure accuracy and verify compliance with the individual roll weight as well as the running lot average weight rules. The inline check weigher as well as the offline QA scale are verified daily with calibrated weights. They are also verified by an outside service at least once a year.
