The relatively short shelf life of the products purchased as a "Crufts 2025 Hamper" means that a lot of the meat rolls will likely end up in the bin. Lesson Learned. In response to your reply I would query how a relatively small Poochon can possibly be expected to consume 7 rolls of product by an expiry date of mid-April. However rather than let them go to waste I have passed some on to other dog owners. Any future purchases will be obtained individually from Tesco "as and when".

Food is good but the recent changes to the subscription option is not good. I have been a subscription customer for a number of years but the changes mean that the food our dog eats is no longer included. This means ordering from the a la carte menu which attracts a £7.95 delivery charge. Poor communication and customer service. No reply to emails or phone calls. As another reviewer said my original subscription was cancelled with no prior warning and I had to ask for the promised credit voucher. Why try and fix something that wasn’t broken?

I have bought Freshpet for 5 years. But recently they have changed the packaging and the recipes and they have discontinued a chicken roll which my dog loved to eat, you can buy a £17 one but not a £6 one, doesn’t make any sense really

My French Bulldog, Hugo, has been on Freshpet for about a year. He enjoys the food and his coat is much smoother and softer than before he was on this brand. My initial subscription was £50 for 8 rolls and 2 bacon treats which without any notice reduced to 8 rolls and 1 bacon treat but at the same cost. With the new subscription my cost is now £52 for 8 rolls and no bacon treats unless I wish to add them for £4 which is far too expensive. In addition to the increased cost the choice of rolls has been reduced to 3 varieties with the mixed flavour and the beef being discontinued, again with no explanation as to why. I am not convinced that this new subscription with its increased cost and reduced choice of variety is value for money and I may be open to trying some of the other premium chilled/frozen brands on the market. No issues with the customer service team when I have had cause to speak to them but as aforementioned communication regarding changes to the package have been poor.

I feel that I have really given Freshpet a good chance, by using them, with happy dogs for the last two years. However, they have intermittently changed the order, with less items and some things missing. When you contact them, which is difficult, they make pretty lame excuses and cannot resolve. I started with a great value box, with treats and broth, which dwindled to the bare minimum, for the same monthly cost. Recently, they've moved to a new subscription service, which limits the choice and is even poorer value for money. Also, before this change, they sent me an email to say they'd email and supply me with a £50 credit for the new subscription service. This has not arrived and they have canacelled my account, which meant I had to reactivate it, without subsription showing or previous orders. I have therefore, run out of food for the first time in two years and have decided I will be trying an alternative company. In summary, the food is good, but the value questionable, selection limited and their customer service is unsatisfactory. My advice would be to avoid.

Started a subscription, took my money instantly, but over 48h later, still not even a packing confirmation. No indication at all when the food will be sent let alone delivered. Same as other reviewers, their customer service is also non existent. Doesn't answer the phone and doesn't even list a contact email address. UPDATE: To be fair to them when I finally got through they were helpful and friendly and refunded me. So upped this to 3 stars

I started getting Fresh Pet for our Mini Schnauzer after years of making home-made food for him. The first type I got had rice in it. My dog loves rice, and doesn't have a problem with it-unless it is not cooked throughly. I learned this the hard way, when there were times that I didn't cook it all the way through. When he started eating Fresh Pet he was vomiting about three (3) times a week. Not good. When I examined the food I noticed that the rice grans were really hard-and sharp, and determined that this was the culprit. I know he enjoyed the taste-but the vomiting was a bad sign. I started to get him the grain free formula (much more costly), and he hasn't vomit once since. If Fresh Pet would just cook the rice a bit longer, I don't think he would have this issue. But sharp, jagged, rice can't be good-for any sized dog. To clarify-the food I'm speaking of is the type in the tube (both styles-the one WITH the rice, and the grain free style). I switched to the tube style because the kind in the bag would start to stink after two (2) days. If they would just cook the rice a little longer, I think they would have a winner. I don't know if I can afford $13.00 a tube every few days.
