It is important you research this company before buying. Garlic in dog food is a big no no!

Hi Dave, thanks for reaching out. We value the opinions of our pet parents, and really appreciate you contacting us so that we can address your concerns about this ingredient. Large amounts of garlic would need to be eaten to cause illness in cats or dogs. The amount used in Freshpet recipes is at very low levels and should not be associated with problems. The garlic component that is toxic to the pet is the allicin chemical. A more general term, allicin is the “smell and oil” when you crush the garlic. Our garlic powder contains less than 0.2% allicin, which is very safe to be used. Regardless, we completely respect your thoughts & opinions, and appreciate you allowing us to explain things on our end a bit further. We wish you all the best. - Jillian
