While they list the ability to process a Sch K-1 (Form 1065) it's limited. For example if box 20 has a AA or AG code. Also some codes required additional forms to be filed which they can not handle. In my case they presented me the IRS PDF for and IRS instructions. You will not be able to efile your return when this happens. I had to jump back to my H&R software to knock out my tax return. Excluding my K-1 both FreeTaxUSA and H&R showed the same results on due/refund. I do like the ability to jump directly to a form with FreeTaxUSA.

I have no problems with FreeTaxUSA EXCEPT I can't find a way to talk to someone about a message I keep getting. "Already Signed In We noticed you were already logged in to this account elsewhere, so we safely signed you out. Please sign back in to your account now." I am not already logged in elsewhere!! Who else is logged into my account when I am logged in? I'm really concerned about security issues and can't find a way to talk to someone unless I pay for Pro Support. HELP!

WARNING!! If you want to file the FREE STATE TAX you have to start out on the State website and use their link to the FreeTaxUSA website. Otherwise you have to pay for the state return. SO stupid. Once we did that is made us go through the whole process AGAIN with the fed return and then because we had already efiled that the only way to get the free State return was submit it FOR MAIL IN!! I was so angry. My grandaughter only has a part time job - it should not be this hard to file her taxes.

For several years in a row, I have used FreeTax and my wife has used TurboTax, and we don't quit until we come up with the same number. The interesting part is when we sit down and try to figure out our differences. Based on this I can say with certainty that FreeTaxUSA is better (and cheaper). Having said that, FreeTaxUSA has some issues that I find almost unbelievable. Things like having to enter information from a single K-1 up to three times. And far too many times, if you don't click the little question mark to get more information about something, you'll enter a wrong value. Taking an example from the Colorado deductions page, this sounds very clear: "Enter your total charitable contributions made during 2021:". But it's not. If you clicked the question mark, you'd find out that they really meant "Enter your total charitable contributions made during 2021 AND NOT ALREADY DEDUCTED ON THE FEDERAL FORM:".

States that federal is free even for advanced but they charged me $60...what a lie. I have used turbo tax for many years but not sure I will anymore....there are several nonlying programs out there

I've been using this for my tax refund a few years now and only this time it has been a hassle. When you get way to the end, after submitting bank info to pay ....it shows yellow flags to go review info that you already put in like 3 times, then when you click to review it, it takes you ALL the way to the beginning and you have to click to all these same pages again just to get back to the end. I don't think I'll be using it again next year.
