We do charge a small fee to prepare your state return, but there is no obligation to file it. We feel that our direct pricing, ease of use, and access to customer support make our product the best value in the industry. Please keep in mind if you pay for any of our services using a credit card, no third party is involved and there are no additional fees. You'll reach a live support agent that will typically respond within a few hours to help troubleshoot payment issues in your account.

Hi Ben. I'm sorry to hear you had difficulties with our website. If you have questions about your return, there are many help tools and FAQs that you can click on each screen. If you need more assistance, we offer customer support free of charge through secure messaging within your account and most customers will receive an answer within an hour or two. We also offer a live chat support option if you would like to upgrade to the Deluxe version of the software.

Hi Jeff, Deluxe support does include unlimited amendments for the year it was purchased. The Deluxe upgrade is available before you finalize and submit your returns. Once your returns have been submitted, we do offer Priority support, which includes live chat and quicker response times from our agents, but does not include unlimited amendments. Hi April. It sounds like you may have chosen to pay for our services by having it deducted from your refund. This service is managed by our banking partner, SBTPG, using a temporary bank account that is set aside for you. This could explain why the routing and account numbers are different. To view the bank account that you selected to receive your refund, sign in to your account and click the FreeTaxUSA logo at the top followed by “Check Return Status”.
