CGM from Abbott has been a life-changing technology for me as a type 2 diabetic. I began using it with the Freestyle 2, and I experienced zero issues with that version. The instantaneous feedback and monitoring made so much difference in my blood sugar control. Fast forward to 3. The minute I began using it, sensor life became a disaster. I’ve had so many sensors replaced within the past year(6-7) along with the recall last fall. It is a rarity for the sensor to last the entire 15 days. I think it’s happened maybe twice. My insurance does not cover the prescription so this expense has become hard to support given the extremely low quality of this product.

I'm disappointed with the Freestyle Libre 3. I only get about a week before it falls off. It seems that the reduction in the sensor's size has also reduced the adhesive contact area, which I believe is the primary cause of this issue.

This unit is good in that you can see your blood sugar reading without pricking your finger. However , it continually disconnects from your phone , leaving you with huge gaps in your readings. The graph is almost unreadable , so you cannot tell the history of your readings. The lawn book does not log your readings.Unless you have a note with it. It indicates GMI , (glucose management indicator ) which is not the same as A1C. All in all for the money you pay for this cgm. It needs a whole lot of improvement.

I’ve been using the Freestyle Libre as my only method of monitoring my blood sugar for quite some time. I was very encouraged by the readings, which consistently showed that I was within range about 92% of the time. However, during my annual lab work, my A1C came back significantly higher than expected. That prompted me to double‑check my glucose levels using traditional finger‑stick blood tests and compare them to the Freestyle Libre sensor readings. What I discovered was alarming: the sensor was off by an average of 80–90 points compared to actual blood test results. This level of inaccuracy is not only unacceptable — it’s dangerous. Consumers rely on these devices to make critical health decisions, and such discrepancies can lead to serious consequences. Very irresponsible and potentially harmful to anyone depending on this product for accurate glucose monitoring.

The 3 plus may be the best of the best, but it is not good enough. Abbott has a long way to go with this product. My main problem has been the adhesive. It steadfastly refuses to hold for the full two weeks. I have had numerous falloffs when using the approved location. Although I have had good results getting replacements, it is still a major hassle for me. I have experimented with alternate placements. No problem with adhesion, but questionable results. Abbott needs to improve the adhesive, the method of application and test alternate placement sites followed by published results with instructions for using them successfully.

Ich bin Typ3-Diabetiker. Es ist bekannt, dass der Typ3 stark schwitzt, bedingt durch das Krankheitsbild! Und die Dinger kleben nicht richtig. Überkleben mit großem Pflaster hat sich auch nicht bewährt. Jetzt umwickle ich den Sensor mit Klettbinden, das ist am Oberarm aber unpraktisch, wenn ich allein bin.

Nice tiny sensor. Great glue. Waterproofing good. Functions well. The software is a disaster. It's almost impossible to get your data into Apple Health (you need 3 apps to even try that). When I accidentally removed my account (because it said I had to use a 'follower' account), and recreated my original account (since the follower account didn't do the trick either), my 6 day old sensor was bricked. Support just blamed me and said the device was not broken. Switching to Dexcom now.

Get used to finger sticks again. The 3 plus sensor has signal loss 4 or 5 out of 10 times I try to check my blood sugar. This has been ongoing since the low blood sugar readings 3 sensors ago.
