Sharing user’s info
I’ve received about 20 password resets with user’s info in the past 2 weeks. I’m not a member of this site and I’ve never heard of it prior. I emailed their support but they said it’s spoof account however the emails come directly from their domain, no_reply@ the domain. I would not give this website any personal info.
Response from FreecycleJun 4, 2025
Thank you for providing this information to us. As you are not a member of Freecycle but are receiving multiple password reset emails that appear to come from us, you're being targeted by a spammer or bot. These emails are not being sent from Freecycle's servers—they're being spoofed to look like they are. Unfortunately, because these messages aren’t coming from our system, Freecycle cannot stop them directly. You'll see similar emails from banks or the Geek Squad, etc. You should mark these messages as Spam in your email client. This will help your provider filter similar messages in the future. We understand how frustrating this is and appreciate your help in reporting it. Kind regards, Deron Beal, Executive Director
