Suspicious “Verification” Email and Unauthorized Test Charge
After placing an order, I received an email asking me to obtain and send a “bank authorization code” by replying to email. My bank confirmed that this is not a legitimate process and advised me not to share any information. I also noticed a small unauthorized charge on my card. Because of this, I had to cancel my card and abandon the order. This looks exactly like a scam, even though it came from a company address. Legitimate businesses should not ask customers to send banking information via email. Very disappointing experience. I will not be ordering again unless their security practices improve.

Hi Anna! Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We are truly sorry for the stress and inconvenience this experience caused. The email you received was legitimate and sent as part of FragranceX.com security and fraud prevention process. Authorization or approval codes are commonly used by banks and merchants as a secure way to confirm that a transaction was initiated by the cardholder, helping protect both customers and companies from unauthorized charges. This step is never intended to request sensitive banking details, but rather to verify transaction approval directly with the issuing bank. We understand how this process may have felt concerning, especially given your bank’s guidance, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback. Your comments are valuable as we continue reviewing how we communicate security measures to ensure they are clear and reassuring ✨. Thank you for voicing your experience.
