Matt M.
FCDR will bring you full circle.
Took me too long to write this but I used this service for credit repair and finished the program about a year ago. I was very confident in the program when I first got started but quickly realized that there was a pretty big disconnect with what I was sold on and what was actually happening. I started the program because I was overextended with high interest loans. FCDR did negotiate and reduce my payments and then help me consolidate my balance with a different personal loan. ...at 30%+. You know, the kind where you've made 10k in payments and your principal has only reduced 3.5k.. On top of it the whole process was rushed and they started settling months before it was estimated that they would. What this means is that they didn't bank enough of my money before they started dispersing it so they started asking me to increase my monthly payment to them. What I ultimately realized is that if you understand how they do what they do, you can just do it yourself and work directly with your creditors on your own.
Response from First Choice Debt ReliefAug 31, 2026
Matt, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry that, looking back on your experience, you feel certain aspects of the program did not meet your expectations. First Choice provides debt-resolution services, not credit repair. Before enrollment, our program is designed to explain that settlements and their timing are estimates, that creditor activity can vary, and that settlement opportunities may arise earlier or later than projected. When an opportunity to resolve an account becomes available earlier than expected, our goal is generally to take advantage of a favorable settlement rather than delay simply because it occurred ahead of an estimate. Depending on the timing and terms of multiple settlements, additional funding can sometimes be needed to take advantage of those opportunities. We also understand your concern regarding the loan you ultimately chose to use to complete the program. Completion financing is optional, approval and terms are determined by the lender, and First Choice does not receive a referral fee for a client choosing that option. You're also correct that consumers may negotiate directly with their creditors themselves. Our service is intended for people who prefer to have an experienced team manage the negotiation and settlement process on their behalf. We appreciate that you completed the program, and we would be happy to review your experience with you personally. Please contact our office and ask to speak with management so we can discuss any remaining concerns.
