Just updating after my last review
Just following up after my last review. STILL no help from this company. No one EVER answers the phone at this place. If you miss a call because you may be at work, they sure won’t answer if you call back in even 30 seconds won’t answer . The worst ins company I’ve ever dealt with.

⭐ 1/5
⭐ 1/5 — Based on my experience, I would not recommend First Chicago Insurance.
I was involved in an accident in September that I understood was not my fault. The other driver’s insurance coverage was insufficient to cover all of the related costs. I experienced delays in getting my claim opened and had to make multiple calls and follow up for several weeks. The claim was filed nearly a month after the accident.
During that period, storage fees continued to accrue. First Chicago later deducted an amount related to storage charges from the settlement. I believe the delays in processing the claim contributed to the vehicle remaining in storage, although I cannot independently verify how those charges were calculated.
I was also told that my $1,000 deductible would be returned. Nearly a year after the accident, I had not received that payment or a clear update about its status.
I later switched to State Farm and received a lower rate. My experience with State Farm has so far been more positive.
Almost a year after the accident, I learned that First Chicago had referred an alleged balance of approximately $240 to collections. I do not recall receiving prior notice that gave me an opportunity to resolve the balance. I am still seeking clarification about that amount, as well as the $1,000 deductible I was told would be returned.
Based on these experiences, I recommend carefully comparing other insurance providers and asking detailed questions about claim timelines, storage charges, deductibles, and outstanding balances before choosing a policy. My experience with First Chicago was frustrating, particularly because of the delays and difficulty obtaining clear communication.

I was involved in an accident on July…
I was involved in an accident on July 16 at 10:02 pm at night. It’s been over a month. I’ve been calling and every time someone calls back I have had to talk to a new adjuster every single time. It takes them weeks to actually contact you back. They literally have no urgency to take care of their customers. Then when u cancel their policy they still take their time to send the paperwork through so you’re still charged the next month. I have never dealt with an insurance company like this one ever and I’ve been driving since I was 18. I do not recommend going with this company even as a beginner driver. No one has answers but they sure collect money.

My experience with First Chicago…
My experience with First Chicago Insurance was very frustrating. My adjuster, Alex Tinajero, would not respond to emails and only wanted to communicate by phone, and even then calls often went unanswered for long periods. The only thing that actually got a real, written response was filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance (IDOI) - I had to do this twice before anyone consistently followed up in writing. If you're struggling to get a response from them, don't rely on calls or emails alone - an IDOI complaint is what actually worked.

This is the WORST company ever!!!!
This is the WORST company ever!!!!! Not only do they not answer your calls or your lawyers calls but this company made our lawyer drop us because they are so horrible to deal with. Then our checks were lost (when I believe they were never mailed out to begin with and our agent goes on vacation after lying about sending our checks)!!!! I don't understand how this company is allowed to even be open!!!!! THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH EVER!!!!!!!

I would strongly encourage anyone…
I would strongly encourage anyone dealing with this insurance company to keep detailed records of every phone call, email, payment, and promise that is made to them. My experience has been extremely frustrating, especially when it comes to communication and the handling of my claim.
I was involved in an accident on June 27, 2026, and I opened a claim because I was dealing with vehicle damage, medical issues, missed work, and other financial losses connected to the accident. Throughout this process, I have repeatedly been told different things by different representatives. The biggest issue has been the lack of consistent communication and the amount of time I have had to spend chasing answers.
I have been waiting on the bodily injury portion of my claim, and I was told that I should receive an offer early this week. I was also told that I would receive updates, but I have repeatedly had to reach out myself because the promised communication does not happen when I am told it will.
This situation has affected me financially. I missed 32 days of work, and my medical bills are over $3,000. I have also dealt with ongoing pain and the financial stress that came with being unable to work normally after the accident. I understand that insurance claims take time, but there is a major difference between a claim taking time to process and a customer repeatedly receiving inconsistent information about what is happening.
I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for accurate information, reasonable communication, and for my claim to actually be handled. If something is still needed from me, tell me exactly what it is. If my claim is being reviewed, tell me that. If an offer has been approved, tell me. If there is a reason for the delay, explain it. What is unacceptable is being given one answer and then having to call again only to receive a completely different answer.
I have been patient throughout this process, but being patient does not mean I should have to continuously chase an insurance company for basic information about my own claim. Every time I call, I should not have to start over or wonder whether the information I was previously given was accurate.
I also want other customers to understand how important it is to document everything. Write down the dates you call, who you speak with, what you are told, and what you are promised. Keep copies of your paperwork and correspondence. Based on my experience, having a record of everything is extremely important.
At this point, I want a truthful and specific response regarding my bodily injury claim, including the status of the claim, whether an offer has been made, what is still being reviewed, and what the next step is. I should not have to keep calling over and over just to get basic answers.
This has been a stressful experience on top of everything I was already dealing with after the accident. I hope the company takes this complaint seriously and improves its communication with customers, because nobody should have to feel like they are being passed around while trying to get answers about a claim that directly affects their finances and well-being.
