They advertise a competitive rate, and after applying they tell you it will take "upto 72 hours to process", then nothing for what's been weeks now. Meanwhile my money's making no interest at all, negating any good rate they were offering. Why not tell your customers if you have no intention of actually opening their account.

There's no chance I'm using this account. After weeks of delay, there's still no sign of it opening. I've opened an account with Spring instead. It was ready instantly. How can Natwest get this so wrong?

Another apology just received - now 3 weeks since application - how could they get it so wrong? Have they underestimated the amount of applicants looking to move savings to best rate?

Applied to open this account on the 5th September, and they have still not opened it. As with the other commenters, I have had two emails apologising for delays, but it really has lost my confidence in the bank. I found this through Martin Lewis, but will not be using it. Will be closing if it ever is opened.

Applied for this account on 28th August. As of today (21st Sept) all I have received is two emails saying "we are processing your application but we are very busy..." etc. So totally hopeless. If they ever do open my account I will close it immediately. I have opened many internet/app type accounts over the last couple of years and never encountered this kind of inertia .

Like others, this has been a pathetically poor experience. Applied on the 28th of August, received a couple of update emails and then 2 "sorry it's taking so long" messages. Last email was 10 days ago. If only we could give 0 stars.

This is an appalling savings account that is typical of anything to do with NatWest. Three emails apologising for delays and then nothing for three weeks now. So five weeks have passed and still account not open. Communication is impossible with them. Don’t waste your time they may offer a good interest rate but if you can’t actually access it what’s the point.
