I gave up with this. I only applied because this organisation is part of Nat West, where I’ve been a premier customer for many years. As the interest rate was attractive, decided to complete an application. Following this, I received multiple emails, over many weeks, telling me how busy they were! Final straw was the email months later asking me where the money was coming from. Called it at this point. Will stay with Ulster bank

I applied for a First Active easy access account on 09/09/26 , several emails telling me they’re busy and on 14/10/26 , almost 6 weeks later I received an email to say my account is now open. Doesn’t say much for the banks efficiencies does it !!

Applied and it's been over a month and they are still sending me 'I'm sorry it's taking so long emails' - what an absolute joke of a company and would not trust my money with them.

Would give zero or negative stars if I could. As many have said, applied for an account 9th September and still waiting over a month down the line. Appalling service. Other banks now advertising accounts at a higher rate. This account was the highest rate when I applied and they say that rate will be honoured, but WHEN???

Agree with the reviews, one month to open the account. There is no app so you would have to manage from their website. Double auth is an sms. High rate or not i wont be using.

Applied 5 Sept 2026 and still waiting for my application to be processed. Last email 14 days ago. Customer Services just as hopeless as the Onboarding team. Intially AI gives same vague response and asks if you want to speak to a human via chat. Human then gives same vague response about no idea how much longer it will take to process. Seems like Onboarding tean WFH with no supervision and no link to Customer Services. Its not rocket science to find out how many applications are pending and work out how many are being processed per day to then estimate the backlog in days unless there is no competent management.

They attract you to open an account with the highest interest rate, but are unable to open an account for a month. That level of initial incompetence certainly means I won't be depositing with them, but maybe that's what they are trying to achieve when a lot of people apply and they can't support the interest rate they're promising?
