Just opened an account. It has taken less than 15 minutes including depositing a £1 test which was received immediately. First class.

Again, mirroring what many are saying here. Some seem to be struggling to get through automated process and many other, (like me thankfully) sailed through the middle with no issues. In under 10 mins from starting to apply, I tried a token £100 deposit to ensure links all working as expected and no issues at all. In summary, (and I am a financial adviser) maybe try and see if it all goes well and smoothly and for any reason if the system struggles with the likes of verification, don't waste any more time on it, walk away. Not sure what problems others are having but opened and verified and working in 15 mins. I could have missed out on a great rate here taking notice of people who clearly don't how to open an account

The interest rates are an obvious attraction but must admit I was deterred by some of the reviews about delays in setting up but I decided to give it a go. The application time on line was less the 3 minuets after which time I received an application successful email plus sort code and account number, I carried out a £1 test transfer from my nominated account which appeared in the First Active account within minuets, the whole process from starting the application to that first £1 landing was less than 15 minuets.
