Fender introduced a new DAW
Fender introduced a new DAW. Digital Audio Workstation. Fender Studio 8. There is nothing wrong with this software, except that the company forgot about the audio producer who needs a good DAW to produce audio commercials for broadcast on radio, TV, YouTube, and the like. I can understand since Fender sells musical instruments; however, the standard in production for Commericals is manufactured by AVID called PRO TOOLS. Pro Tools, when it works, is awesome! There was a catch phrase there- WHEN IT WORKS. It's very buggy, and over the years has driven me to distraction by the nonsense one has to put up with, yet for audio engineers who produce commercials that have to be 29.9 seconds or 59.9 with voice over, music, sound effects, and such, Pro Tools has it over the other DAWs when it works! I recently purchased Fender's Studio 8 Pro- and it operates so well on my high-end Mac. It just starts and is ready, but it lacks the features that Pro Tools has, so trying to get a bunch of commercials done in Studio 8 by Fender is a task! Fender has overlooked the audio engineer and solely concentrated on music production. BEATS AND BARS has no real time in seconds and minutes, and when a waveform is highlighted, it does not provide the time. There is no smart tool that lets you really manipulate your work with a quick swipe of the mouse. Its very tedious, and the real kicker- you cannot make a file and designate your saved work or bounce down your production to that self-made file folder, which makes organization a task. It has built-in defaults. It tells you where it wants to place your work, which is crazy! This is my own experience, and for any audio engineer wanting to move away from Pro Tools because it's not rock-solid, this Fender Studio could be great. But for commercials and such, it's really not ready for prime time. I would say look elsewhere. I don't know where yet, but this Fender 8 will drive you nuts because of what it will not do and what it forces you to do. Just my two cents minus inflation,

Thanks for the feedback, Duke. We appreciate it. I'll be sure to push this up to the product team for consideration. We appreciate you taking the time to write. It means a lot to us.
