Damaged packaging and disappointing response
I ordered the Hello Kitty Fuzz pedal directly from Fender, and while the pedal itself works fine, the box arrived visibly crushed. For a limited-edition collectible priced higher than the standard version specifically because of its presentation, that’s unacceptable. I contacted Fender support with photos of the damage, but they told me that “damage to the box doesn’t affect the pedal.” That might make sense for a standard model, but in this case, the packaging is part of the product’s value — it’s what collectors are paying extra for. I expected better care and customer service for a premium item like this. Hopefully Fender takes feedback like this seriously for future releases — because the pedal itself is great, but the experience left a bad impression. Update: The replacement arrived today and appears undamaged, which is good. That said, this process shouldn’t have required multiple escalations and public pressure to get a basic quality issue acknowledged. It’s hard to call this “making it right” when the original stance was to dismiss a valid concern. I’m glad the product is finally what I paid for — but the experience made me question whether I’d trust Fender again.
