Company has misleading advertising around its gift cards. The main Fandango site advertises movies at home but the gift cards sold on that same site are not good for fandango at home purchases.

I would strongly advise against using Fandango. I ordered tickets for a group like I had done several times before. When we arrived at the theater, the clerk stated it was the wrong theater. The theater Fandango sent me to this occurrence was 100 miles away. After purchasing tickets for the correct theater, the attendant stated this happens regularly. When I spoke to the rep at Fandango, she said she would escalate the case, but instead sent me an email stating it was outside their guidelines. I will NEVER use Fandango again. They don't take care of their customers. They are only interested in lining their pockets and the pockets of the theaters they work with. I don't think I will use AMC again either.

I ordered tickets a month in advance. When the tickets didn't arrive in my inbox, I assumed they'd be sent later. When the date for our movie arrived, I didn't see any tickets in my emails. We had to leave at 6:15 for the movie & had to pay again. When we got home, I saw the tickets had arrived in my inbox at 6:20. Tried immediately to get a refund. No success. Fandango's not willing to make an exception although they have evidence that we paid twice for the same movie. Won't be ordering anything through Fandango again!

Don’t bother buying movie tickets through Fandango. I purchased tickets with a gift card and the theater was unable to process them since screening was sold out. Contacted fandango for a refund but since I contacted after the movies start time they couldn’t give me a refund

At one point we trusted and used Fandango for almost all of our movie going. It gave us a good sense of rather people liked the movie or not, a view of what the movie was really about vs the trailers and allows us to purchase tickets and select seats in advance. All good. Recently (i.e. in the last 2 years), I just don’t trust the reviews any more. I’ve noticed that overtly negative reviews seem to never show up, while more neutral and positive reviews get highlighted. I tested this myself. We went to see a movie recently that I didn’t particularly like. I wrote a negative review and gave it two stars. The review was harsh, but not inaccurate or especially disparaging. It never showed up on the list of reviews. I waited a few days thinking maybe processing delays were the issue. Nope, never showed up. I thought that was interesting, so to continue my test I added a more neutral review. This time a slightly higher rating and some vague language about the movie being ok but not especially good. This version appeared the next day. On a hunch, I added a third review. In this case it was negative, but again only tending negative. In this version however, I mentioned that the movie was overtly political and featured overt homosexually, which I am not interested in seeing in the movies I watch. Here, the review was never published. From this limited set of tests, I can assume that highly negative reviews or reviews that mentioned things related to politics or sexual orientation as a contributing factor to a negative review will be filtered out. Doesn’t seem to be a very accurate system for capturing audience opinion. In fact it seems designed to filter against topics Fandango doesn’t want the audience to comment on. I no longer have any trust in Fandango reviews or would rely them for information. Filtering out audience sentiment because that sentiment is negative towards a topic they feel it should not be is obviously biased and an inaccurate representation of what the customer (I.e. people paying to watch the movie) are saying. I understand they may not like the feedback. But filtering it out and pretending it doesn’t exist is overt manipulation and a disingenuous representation of real audience feedback.

Requested a refund or credit for tickets purchased for the wrong theater on the Fandango app. Fandango customer rep. stated they would not consider my request. Tickets were not redeemed. They further stated how they strive for me to have a good experience but would not consider at least a credit for the $51 spent on tickets that were not redeemed. Isn't that an oxymoron? They even charged an $8+ service change. Won't be using Fandango anymore. Don't need them. I'll purchase my tickets at the theater.
