This entire thing is a scam! They charge me 20% fee to settle an "outstanding" balance from DirecTV, which is impossible, as I have auto debit and have never missed a payment; hence, no there was never an "outstanding" balance. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!
Response from FairShake Inc.Aug 9, 2021
Hi David,
FairShake is not affiliated with DirecTV. I'm glad to hear you were able to reach a successful settlement with them. Unfortunately while we help people who've been mistreated by big companies, we aren't able to provide our own services for free or we wouldn't be able to keep providing them.
Our charge covers the preparation and mailing of documents, chat support, any money we may pay for legal support of your claim, and the convenience of our users not having to learn and pursue each step of the process.
All users when they sign up acknowledge that we charge a fee for successful outcomes with a minimum of $20.

Okay i filed a complaint earlier and…
Okay i filed a complaint earlier and received an email response where they saw why I was frustrated. Only problem is I am even more frustrated now, i have got nowhere, no real answers, no one ever, ever, ever picks up a phone and speaks to you to try and sort it out, you have a merry go round to nowhere of emails and NO RESOLUTION, NONE, NADA, ZILCH IT IS BEYOND FRUSTRATING

Having communicated privately with T about this, I wanted to add the following publicly as well:
We provide live chat support ~70 hours a week via your claim dashboard at app.fairshake.com. I am confident in saying that had the latest question to our attention sooner it would have received a response around it in a timely manner.
I can also say based on my review that this claim is atypical compared to those we usually deal with, for reasons that I won’t detail here out of privacy considerations. In general, claims should be based on something done wrong by the company you are making a claim against, rather than some third party.
This complexity may have impacted this experience with the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Communications with the AAA are not available to the FairShake team unless our users share them with us.
I will be having my teammates review whether we should refrain from processing claims like this in the future to avoid this situation.

Drop you after they get their money!
They tell me to call back but don’t answer but say to leave a message that’s never answered once they have their money to you are nothing and they do not do what they say.
If the company doesn’t comply with the settlement you are on your own. Don’t count on them.
Response from FairShake Inc.Jul 12, 2021
Hi Sandra,
I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. We're always seeking to make our process better based on feedback.
It sounds like there's a couple ways we could do better
1) We're just setting up our phone structure, my apologies if you didn't get a respond to your message. If you reach out to me at trustpilot [at] fairshake.com I'll make sure you get a follow-up by email or text.
2) While companies are legally obligated to follow up on their settlement commitments, and usually do, we know that sometimes they can be slow or unreliable. If the stated amount of time has passed since signing your settlement and you still haven't seen the results, we have suggested next steps that we can provide in that follow-up. We're continuing to build up new options for users in this situation.
I hope we'll be able to recover your trust here.

I wish I could put minus 25,000 million stars…
I wish I could minus 25 million stars but it made me check one star before I could write my review... Let me tell you what Fairshake should be ashamed of themselves they offered me $50 for a $500 settlement of course second-guessing everything finally I said forget it I refused that settlement then they came back with the right settlement which was $500 anyway long story short I was sent a W9 from the company I was disputing and I simply wrote back to Fairshake in an email why am I filling out a W9 because I’m not getting anything extra from my settlement I’m getting my original money I already paid taxes on. Anyway the person who got the email at Fairshake didn’t answer my question & took it upon them self to refuse my settlement which I had already accepted & signed .. I had already been waiting five months for my settlement and that person you’re going to get yours whether it’s now or in the afterlife because you had no right no right to refuse my settlement and set it back two more months you can’t mess with peoples lives like that... you did not have my permission to Refuse what I had already excepted and make me start all over from the beginning.. and that person is so lucky That I got my original settlement offer.... I Know one thing for sure KARMA IS A BIZNATCHthank you very much and have a great life!!!!! and to add a comment to what Fairshake wrote back below.... well if I could send you the picture of the two different settlements I signed you can’t tell me they did not refuse my settlement they took it upon themselves to reject it and I had to re-signed a paper about 10 days later once I get my money I darn sure will send you more information I just don’t want you to mess it up again and take my money from me so let me get my money first and then will really get down to business I have all copies of everything
Thank you so very much

Hi Michelle,
I’m sorry to hear you’re unsatisfied with your FairShake experience. I’m going to follow up with a request for more information to confirm which claim you are talking about, though I believe I’ve been able to identify it.
First off, to clarify, FairShake has no ability to “refuse” a settlement once it has been offered by a company and signed by an individual. We are not a party to the settlement -- it was signed and remains in force and will be reflected on your FairShake dashboard as “Offer Accepted.” Based on a review of the chats in our system, it does not appear that our staff at any time suggested otherwise to you.
Unfortunately if a settlement sent by a company contains a requirement like completing a W9, and an individual signs the settlement but subsequently does not complete that condition, there’s a good chance that the company will not follow through on its commitment to pay the settlement amount.
Another condition for accepting a settlement will typically be terminating the formal arbitration process, if the claim has reached that point. When a settlement is accepted, our system will automatically remind the individual that they must officially withdraw their claim with the American Arbitration Association. This is not “refusing” a settlement, but it is a condition of accepting it. Is it possible this is what you are referring to?
In terms of helping you get your settlement: If you have not completed the required forms or withdrawn the arbitration filing, these would be the most likely reasons you have not received the settlement amount. If you have completed the forms and withdrawn the arbitration filing then you should expect payment on the timeframe indicated within the settlement.
A little more about the W9: This is not about whether FairShake has a position on whether the settlement amount is taxable income or not -- we don’t have a position because we are not allowed to give tax advice. Our experience is with helping people get their settlements by completing the conditions that they’ve agreed to. Be assured that FairShake has no control over whether or not that income is taxable.
Pursuing a legal claim can be a confusing process and often requires accepting things we don’t want to hear. We’d like to do our best to help you get your settlement. We do expect our customers to be polite in dealing with our staff at all times and that will be the expectation of any help we provide.

What a joke
What a joke. They recommended I accept the $20 settlement from T-Mobile for illegally processing and setting me up with an account and in exchange I have to pay Fair shake $20. What good is that?
Response from FairShake Inc.Jul 2, 2021
Hi Robert,
I'm sorry to hear you're not happy with the settlement you've been offered. If you need help with how to reject it and make a counter-offer to the company please use the chat feature on your claim dashboard and a member of our team will help you out.
Every case we process through FairShake costs us money, so we do have a minimum charge of $20 on successful claims.

Fairshake failed me.
I paid Fairshake to settle a $333 claim for me with Verizon and I still end up paying Verizon because my case went to claims dept where it would affect my credit score. Fairshake failed me and now I want my money back. I will not recommend Fairshake to anyone.
Response from FairShake Inc.Jul 2, 2021
Hi Karl,
Sorry to hear this.
This shouldn't be anyone's experience. If companies are breaking the legal agreements they make with FairShake companies that's serious and we need to know more about it so we can correct it. Hopefully we can help you get the company to honor the agreement, and if not you should get a refund.
As we note when you accept a settlement, payouts from companies can take 30 days or more to arrive, and corrections to credit reporting often take 60-90 days. This is because companies often move slowly, and unfortunately that's not generally within FairShake's control.
Based on your situation, I'm not sure 90 days have passed, and I and would doubly encourage you to follow-up at to trustpilot [at] fairshake.com if we hit 90 days and you still haven't seen the results so that we can help you figure out how to make sure the company follows through on their commitment.

They are just causing consumers to pay…
They are just causing consumers to pay more in the long run don’t fall for this crap.
Response from FairShake Inc.Jun 16, 2021
Hi Amber. I'm sorry to hear you're not a fan of what we're doing. The companies we process claims against make billions of dollars every year; we think they can afford to treat their customers fairly.

Fairshaft?
I am surprised that a company that is supposed to help you fight big companies doesn't work. It keeps telling me to start a claim, I press the button, and nothing happens. Its a big loop. Two or three web sites and your back at square 1. Scam. Please beware.
Response from FairShake Inc.Jun 2, 2021
Hello Lee,
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing technical issues with our site. We don't want anyone to be having this sort of experience. We continue to receive dozens of new claims a day, so I have no reason to believe it's widespread.
If you reach out to us via trustpilot [at] fairshake.com we'd like to hear more about your issues and get our tech team working on how to fix it.
