Very poor customer experience

I ordered a product from them based on the shipping timeline provided on their website. It turns out the product was on backorder, and I was not notified of such. Due to this, the part arrived to my home after I had left for the Fall, so I was not able to inspect/evaluate it until after I returned the following Spring. Unfortunately, I had ordered the wrong part, so I tried to exchange it. Factoryoutletstores' policy is no returns after 30 days, even though the reason I was not able to return it within the 30 day timeline was because of a delay on their end for which I was not informed. I am not asking for my money back, just an exchange. The part I have has no value to me, but it does to them. Why could they not just accept it back and provide me with the part I need? Very poor customer experience. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing another product from them and be forewarned, they are intolerant of anything outside of their 30-day return policy.

After a complete investigation, we found that the order was placed on 08/26/2020 for a transducer. Unfortunately, it did not ship right away as it was back-ordered. Finally, the order was shipped on 09/22/2020. However, it turned out to be an incorrect unit. Based on the 30-day return policy, returns cannot be accepted after 30 days. However, we have created an exception as a courtesy and are willing to take the unit back. Upon receiving the unit back in the warehouse, a refund would be initiated.
