Shrinking Furnace filters...check before you buy here.
I just received my Furnace filters and was surprised to find they are apparently now being sized like "dimensional" lumber...reduced in size from what is advertised and if you don't buy the name brand you get short changed.. Supposed to be 20"x 20'x 4" but a half inch short on all dimensions. They barely fit the hanger area and leave plenty of room for the air flow to bypass the filter on all sides. I bought a higher MERV value to get better filtration and ended up with less coverage....Very disappointing. Can I make them work? Sure but at a cost of operation. I'm so tired of fighting Corporate bottom feeders who screw the customer at every turn. If the can shrink it, dilute it, or in some other way reduce the quality to save a fraction of a cent /unit they just don't have the integrity to do what right.
