Product not as advertised
The service was prompt and efficient but the product was wanting. In particular, the glasses that arrived were much darker than shown on the website. Too bad, because they looked good online.

My recent frames, which I purchased back in June are defective. I purchased these again because they were the only frames that would fit my lenses. When I called to express how I felt about the frames I was put on hold for a long time. I eventually hung up, used a different phone, got through with no problem. Felt I was being ignored. Disappointed.

2 stars because I love the style of my new glasses and the price was affordable even without using my insurance. Minus 3 stars because: 1) I didn't get an email stating anything about shipping/delivery as stated on the website. 2) The website stated 2-3 days for glasses without lenses, yet mine took 1.5 weeks to arrive. 3) No answer to an email I sent to customer service asked if my order had been received. 4) When I called to check if my order was received, a very angry and rude woman answered. I'm glad I didn't actually have a problem with my order because it didn't seem like she was willing to help or listen to anyone who had order problems. She only became less angry and rude after the second time of me telling her I was just checking to see if my order went through. I will not order from eyeglasses.com again solely because of that experience with the customer service rep. I might not be so lucky to not have a problem if I order from them a second time. Because of the poor attitude of the customer service rep, I would not recommend anyone order from this company. 5) The glasses sit crooked on my face. The website states to take it to your local eyeglass store to have them fix it. I mentioned this to the place that put my lenses in. They stated there was a piece that was loose on the glasses and they would fix it. Supposedly they fixed it, but the glasses still sit crooked on my face. Note: my expensive backup glasses do not sit crooked on my face and needed no adjustments ever. 6) I paid $62 for my glasses (still affordable without insurance) but the glasses feel more flimsy than a pair of cheap $10 reading glasses from the grocery store. They still look good though. I can get them fixed locally if they fall apart.

Glasses were out of focus and had to be returned. Time to make was acceptable.

I've been a long-term customer of Eyeglasses.com and referred many people to them over the years. Unfortunately, when I ordered a replacement pair recently they failed to alert me that my Rx wasn't received after I submitted my prescription within minutes of placing my order. Then, instead of apologizing or offering to expedite delivery, another week passed by before I rec'd my order. They used to run a much tighter ship.

I haven't received confirmation on my Oct. 15 email to you regarding the return of a set of frames. My tracking number shows USPS delivered the frames Oct. 10. Today is Oct. 21. Have you received them? When will you issue a refund?

It would have gotten a five, however, I needed the frames for my next appointment. I live a good distance from my eye doctor so I ordered them 4 days before my appointment and chose the overnight shipping option. They didn't ship them out until the third day after I ordered so I didn't get them in time and had to make an extra hour trip back to the eye doc for a 2 min. sizing. I could have gotten them $30 cheaper from another site but chose this one because they gave the overnight shipping option and the other didn't. Very disappointing that I over paid, paid for quick shipping and it still took 4 days.

We are sorry for any inconvenience and this is an ongoing challenge! It is posted at the time the shipping option is chosen that expedited shipping effects "time in transit" and most orders take 5-7 business days to ship. We subsidize the Next Day shipping and offer a great value. Again, I am sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.

I wanted my lenses put into new frames. Their process is to have you mail your lenses to them and they look into their supply to find frames that fit your lenses. They will email you the frame options that they found and then you make your selection. Well, after I mailed my lenses, the next thing I received was an invoice to make payment on frames and the fee for putting my lenses into them . I didnt receive OPTIONS. And the frames were Calvin Kleins. I didnt want to spend more for expensive brands. I thought I would receive 3 or more options of varying price range. I called and was told that that was the only frame in their entire selection that would fit my lenses. I found that hard to believe. He first reluctantly said that they could go check again, but then after confirming that my main issue was with affordability, he then offered me 25% off the price of frames plus the fee to put the lenses in them. I appreciated that and found it helpful, but I still wanted something better as far as style. But he said that with the discount, they were not going to be able to look for more options for me to pick from. I spoke to several customer service reps while dealing with them and no one was particularly friendly. They are not forthcoming with any helpful information for customers. One gave me erroneous information about when my glasses would be shipped, after I asked him. I sent two emails to their customer service department and did not receive a response either time. When I called because I didnt receive my glasses when I was told I would, I was flippantly told "sorry about that" from a customer service rep. I believe that a business who cares about their customers should do something to compensate them for inconveniences and hardships put upon them that was the fault of the business. That is how you retain business and get people to come back and spend more money at your company. I found the customer service so bad that I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor listened, again apologized for the incorrect information. But then she made excuses for why her people give bad customer service. I was basically told that her employees deal with rude people on a daily basis, so they are rude in response to them. Well, from my personal experience, I was not rude initially. They were unfriendly from the beginning. And perhaps people are rude or unhappy when they call back BECAUSE they received incorrect information from the business that has significantly inconvenienced them or prolonged their hardship.
