Cancelled my account. Received an email confirming my cancel request. Afterwards they presented a charge of $20 to my bank as an ACH transaction three times. Because I wasn't using this bank account at the time, the money wasn't there and it cost me $30 in nsf fees each time they tried to get $20. Then this month they snagged $20 for membership fees again. Word to the wise is make sure you are very clear when and if you cancel your membership.

This app is garbage and sketchy AF. I have tried to cancel for two years now and they keep telling me they need my pending transactions to go through before it can be done. And then…a year gpes by, they charge me $84 and I go through the entire thing all over again. Next, I plan to look up “how to file a class action suit” because I suspect I am not the only sucker to fall for this fraudulent “program” that was fed to me on Instagram. p.s. per their response they only refunded me for one year, not two. Don’t be the sucker I was.

If I could give this company negative 162 stars, I would. That’s how many points dropped in my credit as a result of their incompetence when it comes to dealing with fraudulent charges in a timely manner. I contacted their customer “concierge” and was given a run around when I told them that a slew of fraudulent charges hit my account. Furthermore, I was instructed to pay for the fraudulent charges with the promise they would take care of things on the back end and was unable to speak to a customer service representative on the phone, which was absolutely astonishing. They then reported my account as late even though I was more than willing to pay for any of the charges that I was responsible for, as I did the entire time I was with them. They then maxed out the points I had on my account for the insignificant items they had in their “store” as if that was some sort of consolation prize. My credit is now in “bad credit” when it was on the verge of being “good” up from “fair”. I have contacted them repeatedly for half a year trying to get this resolved and am still getting the same run around. Don’t do business with these people because they won’t take care of things that need to be immediately handled in a timely manner. I will be contacting whatever federal bureau I need to in regards to how my account was handled, as well as start the lengthy process of disputing this with the credit score companies directly. The fact that this has been allowed to go on with impunity and utter disregard for my credit has pushed me to this breaking point. I simply cannot recommend this company less.

Please read reviews before deciding to use their services. Multiple red flags... The customer service lack of assistance and unprofessionalism is a big reflection on the company as a whole that lead to me closing my account. First red flag is I disputed a charge in December 2022 and Extra decided to rule in the company's favorite of an unauthorized transactions. I closed my account since I felt they don't protect their customers. A month after, I got the company who made the unauthorized transaction to agree to a refund. Second red flag is Extra customer service contact is through email only. Initially, they agreed to refund my money and send a check since I don't have an account. The company trying to refund my money said Extra was not communicating with them to process the refund. Third red flag is Extra customer service through email is horrible. When trying to communicate on how to get my refund from the company, they kept referring to my dispute that they made a decision on. I sent a screen copy of the company agreeing to the refund and CC'ed Extra on the email communication of the company trying to process the refund, yet Extra still kept referring to the dispute decision they made in February. Fourth red flag is paying for their services to help build your credit when you have companies like Chime, Ced.ai, Varo that will do it for free.

The app has multiple persistent issues that are not adequately addressed despite regular updates. Recently, I experienced a severe issue where I was unexpectedly logged out and logged into someone else's account upon logging back in. When attempting to contact support, I encountered further frustration as the displayed name on the app did not match the account I was logged into. This raises serious concerns about the company's overall security measures and the effectiveness of their support. The support system appears to rely heavily on pre-written responses and an ineffective AI bot. Given these experiences, I would exercise caution when sharing sensitive information due to the apparent lack of account security. The overall security of their services is a matter of significant concern.

Horrible company! I just found out they've been autodrafting my account $8 a month for a very long time without doing anything whatsoever. The only way they would approve me is sending them my social security card (wouldn't take any other form of identification) and since I lost it, it took me a long time to get one. The rep said they have literally not reported once in all those months. Not once. How can you me a credit builder if you don't report anything? "We only report what you spend," he said. Yet they wouldn't let me spend anything until now. Truly unbelievable.

I have had multiple issues with Extra. I have been dealing with customer services for 1 entire year now regarding cancellation of my account. I have various emails showing communication regarding these issues. I have been told multiple times my account is cancelled, yet I keep getting charge alerts and been charged twice now for a membership fee. Again despite canceling my account. It’s been a very frustrating year. I don’t recommend their services.
