Less than a week from our departure I realized my passport had expired. I prepared my documents for renewal, expressed them out late Thursday evening; Friday they were in D.C. and the passport was renewed on that very day; it arrived Monday morning before 11am. Money well spent. Perhaps I could have walked into a renewal office and done it on time, but this was simple and saved me lots of potential aggravation and time.
