ExpediaReviews of expedia.us

HORRIBLE. They offer new member promos because they are desperate for new clients but give nothing to those who have been repeat customers. The rewards don’t go into effect until the year after your trip so good luck getting any discounts when you actually need them. No reward using them at all. I compared flights on the actual websites and surprise, cheaper to use the actual airline website, Expedia marks up. They are filled with empty promises and false advertisement. DO NOT USE IT YOU WILL BE SCREWED. Prior to 2023 as you booked you get rewards like other companies. Use anything or anyone else.

I ordered my flight tickets thru Expedia online then called them to confirm but they charged more money saying my booking was a "standby" which means the airlines will push me out at the departure day. I paid more. Then call them a couple days later for some inquiries, they told me "Today" is my departure day. If i don't come to the airport o fly, everything will become"0". Then they charged me the 2nd time to reinstate and reorder our tickets. I paid more again and got confirm email from Expedia, not airlines!! Couple days passed, i got emails from airlines notify us our tickets were cancelled. I chat with Expedia Agent and been told someone will call me "today" and things will be fixed "today". Three days passed nothing done, no one called. I was frustrated and sick worrying our trip will be ruin. Then i make DECISION TO DISPUTE MY CREDIT CARDS AND MY BANK AND GOT ALL MY MONEY BACK. i ordered my tickets directly from airlines and got all confirmed in less than 10 minutes. Until now I can't understand why Expedia made the order a nightmare. I paid right? So, bye Expedia, no more.

We booked a 9-seater rental car through Expedia but received an 8-seater instead, which meant we had to rent an additional car to fit everyone. Despite contacting Expedia immediately, just as they instruct you to do in case of issues, they refuse to take any responsibility. Their response? “We are just an intermediary.” In practice, this means they can provide any car – a luxury car could turn into an economy car – and it still wouldn’t be their responsibility. A completely unreliable business model that leaves the customer with no rights whatsoever! Expedia’s customer service is also a joke. Chatbots, emails, and support staff repeat the same response over and over again in what feels like a strategy to exhaust the customer. If you request contact details for someone responsible, you only receive automated replies. We feel completely scammed by Expedia and Budget (Linate) and want to warn everyone against booking a rental car through Expedia – unprofessional and worthless customer service!

They are giving me the runaround on issuing a $253 refund. We booked motel 6 seawall for the weekend and every guest there was given a refund bc they lost power. 3 different people including the manager told me the refund was given. I was shown the tablet showing the refund on their end. However motel 6 told me since I went thru Expedia, they are the ones that have to put it back in my bank. The first person I talked to (on day number 3 no refund) at Expedia said that it was an automatic process and would take 7-10 days. On the 8th day, I called Expedia again (today) This time they said they had to confirm the refund with the motel. The motel did not answer the phone. I was told I would be contacted in 24-72 hours with an update. This is unacceptable. Give me my damn money back!! I will never use this company again.

They have become the worst travel website.

I would suggest no one uses Expedia app to buy their vacation packages the flair planes are terrible so old my tailbone is still hurting a day later from the hard old uncomfortable seats. They try to up sell you seats when the plane is not even full and you can’t even sit with the person you bought tickets with for your trip. We were forced to pay an extra $200 each way for our luggage this is not a site that saves you money they just trick you cause nothing is included. The app for early check in does not work and they charge you an extra $30 per person to have them check you in at the counter. This was the worst flying experience we have ever had.

I made a reservation online for a hotel stay in Lisbon, Portugal. I received an email the following day with a confirmation itinerary number; I also received another email with the hotel's information but the email was exed out. I proceeded to call Expedia to see if they would be able to provide me with the hotel's email so that I could write to them to request information about places/things to do. The representative who assisted me told me that I had NO RESERVATION !! I asked him how could that be since I had done the reservation and received a CONFIRMATION email!! He responded that the reservation was in the cloud and that he was sorry but that I had to rebook it but the price was higher than what I had reserved.. I told him that was unacceptable and that they had to honor the price they had posted online since it was not my fault since I had received a CONFIRMATION email!!! He also told me that I would be charged a CANCELLATION FEE!!! I told him that the website CLEARLY stated that I could cancel anytime before March 7th....Again he said he was sorry and that there was NOTHING he could do!!! He also told me that he could do the reservation again but at the higher price and that way he would be able to waive the cancellation fee!!! I was livid and told him I would go back in the website to do further research. I called again and another representative assisted me and told he had CANCELLED THE "ICLOUD" RESERVATION WITHOUT MY CONSENT!!! I WILL NEVER USE EXPEDIA AGAIN; THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FALSE ADVERTISING!!

I have called customer service three separate times with two separate numbers. Each time I was hung up on. The representatives refused to let me speak to a manager. I was calling to inquire about the total cost of a car rental to ensure there were no hidden fees. Each representative had different daily prices for the rental than the app says. No one provided a solution and their suggestion was to just book the car. A nonrefundable booking that surely has hidden fees that would prevent me from picking up the car at the airport upon arrival. I travel 90% of the year for work and will no longer be using expedia. Absolutely unacceptable customer service.
