The lack of communication and empathy
I found EverCars.com through the company website I work for. After reading the reviews, I decided to give your company my business. I followed the process provided to reserve a vehicle, scheduled a date to complete the purchase, and came to your location expecting to move forward with the transaction. Unfortunately, upon my arrival, I was told by the salesperson that the vehicle had already been sold. I was simply told, “Sorry, the car is sold.” There was no meaningful effort to acknowledge the inconvenience or offer an alternative solution. I understand that vehicles can sell quickly, and I recognize that I may have made a mistake by providing my personal information to begin the credit process. However, once I realized the vehicle was no longer available, I immediately asked the receptionist to notify the salesperson that I wanted the transaction canceled and specifically requested that my credit not be run. Unfortunately, that request appeared to fall on deaf ears. I subsequently received an email stating that you could not move forward with my application. This was especially frustrating because I had already asked for the transaction to be canceled. What disappoints me most is not simply that the vehicle was sold. It is how the situation was handled. I came to your location prepared to purchase a vehicle and give your company my business. When the vehicle was no longer available, I expected some level of empathy, communication, and an effort to provide a reasonable solution or alternative. Instead, I left feeling as though my business—and my money—was not valued. I hope management will take the time to review what happened, including how my request regarding the credit application was handled, and provide an explanation of why my concerns were not addressed when I raised them in person.
