Evapolar does cool air and works as a personal cooling fan, but you have to be sitting pretty close to it and have the air directed at you to feel the benefit. It is not effective at cooling even a relatively small room - but I find it helps at close range

I use two evaSmart coolers and have done for the last year. The products work, and definitely reduce the air temperature that comes out by quite a few degrees. It’s not an air conditioner but it never tries to be. The problem is that the products are not really fit for full sale. The evaSmart has a removable water tank - I am reluctant to remove it ironically as it causes leaks (on both of my coolers so it is not an isolated incident). The “smart” connectivity is useless and I have accepted it will never work. The iOS app hasn’t been updated in over 4 years and requires a 2.4GHz network (most networks now are dual band and it is sometimes not possible to connect to a specific band as I have found). Both of my coolers are not compatible and I cannot use any of these features. The customer support is also not great. The core function of cooling air via evaporation works and I use these religiously during the summer. But do not waste money getting the “smart” models.

I bought an evapolar evaLIGHT plus. It works as intended, and it looks nice, however I am a bit disappointed. But then again, I am using it in a larger room that it is not intended to handle. It helps a little bit with the heat when you point the airflow directly at yourself, but does not cool the ambient air in the slightest. Overall it feels like an overpriced fan ventilator with some cooler air with more maintenance required.
