This company scammed me. When I added on a car in the middle of the month, they charged me for the full month instead of pro rating it. Then they tried to explain.... oh, we deducted, then added , then deducted the premium again.... trying to confuse me. Then when I canceled because of poor service and being scammed, they said my official reason for canceling was because the rates were too high! LOL no it's because you are unscrupulous and scammers!

We just had a horrific storm and our electricity has been out over 16 hours with no resolution in sight. Our Erie homeowners policy os with the Strong Insurance Agency in Kernersville, NC. The Strong agency informed me that I had a $500 of coverage for loss unrefrigerated food with no deductible. However, there is a $115 surcharge for filing a claim. I am sitting in a very warm house with no A/C and no suitable food to eat. Who takes advantage of people like this? This is a new low for this agency and Erie Insurance. Getting quotes from other Insurance Agencies this week.

I saved $600/year by accidentally letting my Erie auto policy lapse, and moving to Progressive. I'll probably never be back. Setting up autopay should be easier with Erie and Erie's communication strategy could use some work. I was out of town for three weeks and missed the mail notice that my insurance payment was due. I received no email, no text, nothing else but a paper in the mail notifying me my insurance would lapse without payment. I make enough money to pay, I would've if I'd known it was needed, it was just logistical life stuff that made me miss it. In this world of modern technology, communication should be better. When people sign up for paperless, maybe notify them of impending insurance lapses through paperless communication? I would've received the notice and contacted my agent immediately. But no, Erie can't possibly catch up with the times. But hey, like I said... My insurance rate dropped from $1400/year with Erie to $800/year with Progressive for the same coverage. Why would I go back to Erie? Oh and to make the communication aspect better, when I tried unsubscribing from their marketing emails, I get a "Forbidden" error. Can't even unsubscribe to you jerks. Your communication strategies need some work... And not AI slop. Hire some people to get it right.

Erie insurance is the worst insurance company. This insurance company does not fulfill its responsibilities. Even though the fault was theirs, after a year of back-and-forth, they tried to pay only 50% and finally paid just 30%. Most employees (I’d say 99%) are dishonest. I called headquarters many times seeking justice, but nothing was done. They just support the mistakes of their NY branch. Extremely disappointing and untrustworthy.

This is the worst insurance company. All insurance companies are scammers anyway charging people knowing that theres hardly ever gonna be an instance where a claim is filed. My grandmother has been with them for 40 years, and payed around $1000 a year, so thats a total of $40,000. (Shes old so it most likely was cheaper the further you go back but im going by the info I have currently st the rates shes been paying for years) but in that 40 years she has filed two claims for weather related incidents with the home. One of the times they sent her $1,400 for damage to the roof (then she payed a crap load out of pocket to pay for the repair) then the other incident she dont rember how much it was because it has been a long time but I can guarantee you they have profited way more than she has ever received in insurance claims when she needed it. She just received a letter in the mail saying they are canceling her home owners insurance due to the claims she has filed....I guess they want all your money but dont want to have to insure you when something youre covered by happens. Ungodly, wicked wicked people. Do not do business with this company

I had been with Erie for about 5 years. I slid on some ice 2 years ago and they paid about $500. Then 5 months ago my 19 year old son did have an at fault accident and he got a failure to yield ticket. I figured my insurance was going up I thought I was waiting for the 6 month to end and see the new rate. Instead I received a cancellation notice. Since I had just paid for the month they had to cover us to April 5. I ended up with the General and my rate for a year was a down payment of $457 and monthly I'll be paying $40 less than I was paying with Erie. So the down payment was the penalty for his accident but this policy is for 1 year and Erie only does 6 month policies. I will say their claims adjuster are awesome and my agent was very good but unfortunately they gave no say. I think it sucks to tell a 19 year I old who has driven 3 years with no accidents or tickets has 1 accident and cancelling us I'm now glad you did. You could have at least made me an offer. Erie is fine until they have to pay a claim, if over a certain amount they will automatically cancel you no matter how loyal you've been to them. The people are nice but it's their underwriting dept that's the problem

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. IF YOUR BILL GETS LOST IN THE MAIL THEY WILL IMMEDIATELY TURN YOU OVER TO A COLLECTION AGENCY. WAS A ERIE CUSTOMER FROM AGE 15 TO AGE 40 AND ALWAYS PAID BILL ON TIME DO NOT APPRECIATE THE PRICE INCREASES AND BEING TURNED OVER TO A COLLECTION AGENCY WHEN MY BILL GOT LOST IN THE MAIL. I WILL NOT BE BACK AS A ERIE INSURANCE CUSTOMER.
