1 star I cancelled an order because the referral code was incorrect. The original card transaction should have been reversed/released rather than processed as a separate refund. Instead, Enhance Auto processed a new refund of €364.55. Because my bank account is primarily in CZK, this created an exchange-rate loss of approximately €23.51 (CZK 554) for me. I contacted Enhance Auto and explained the situation. Their response was essentially that they had refunded the full amount in EUR and that any exchange-rate difference was my bank’s responsibility. I don’t think this is acceptable. If an order is cancelled, the original card transaction should be properly reversed so that the customer is put back in the same financial position as before the transaction. A customer should not be left with a €23.51 loss simply because the merchant processed the refund as a new EUR transaction instead of reversing the original payment. The refund was technically made in full in EUR, but the way the refund was processed left me financially worse off. Very disappointing handling of an otherwise straightforward cancellation.

We’ve reviewed the payment handling for this cancellation. The full amount charged to us was refunded in EUR to the original payment method. Once a card transaction has already been captured, the refund is processed as a separate return transaction rather than an authorisation release. Any difference created when the card issuer converts the refunded EUR amount back into the account’s local currency is outside our control. We understand why seeing a different CZK amount is concerning, but Enhance did not retain any portion of the payment. - Enhance Customer Experience
