I took the ux/ui design course with the instructor Tony Amidei who works for Paypal. In terms of lessons, it was what you would expect from a college course but the difference is, the instructor really showed you what it's like to work in the real world with real world examples and step by step on how he would tackle each problem as a designer for Paypal and gave examples he had working from PayPal. It is a step up from most college courses cause most ux/ui courses just throws you out and expect you to look for design jobs yourself. This course made a linkedin group to help connect with peers and network and also gave real examples of what to expect from a portfolio and potential interview questions. It's certainly a step up from most college courses but can also have room for improvements.

I enjoyed all the classes for the UX/UI for Gaming course. It was broken up nicely to help make the video game UX process understandable. Ivy, the teacher, is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She makes it very easy to understand each concept with analogies and examples. The only things missing from this course are a real-life applicable project and more career help. In my opinion, this course is not recommended for individuals who are brand new to UX and UX software.

Lilah is an authentic and amazing person and facilitator. She brings a lot of lived experience to the class and her high impact energy is contagious. Additionally, she is an inspirational, dynamic speaker that challenges you to pursue your dreams and goals. She's one that the world needs to keep her eyes on.

For Ux/ui in gaming, classes were taught at a good pace. Some of the assignments needed more clarification, but overall the class resources given as well the instructor feedback were very helpful. Office hours was also nice to have for anyone who had questions.

My experience overall was good. I like that fact that I still have access to my materials and can always go back and review. The instructor was good and patient with the class in regards to questions.

This was a good course for people who want to create short training-type mini-courses that are fully online. It gave a broad overview of instructional design and support to create (or start) an online course build. Not as well-suited for teachers in academia, but there was still a lot of really useful information in the course that would be helpful.

I took the Workplace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion course. The instructor, Diya Khanna, was very knowledgable in DEI concepts and very experienced in putting those concepts to use. For those who are very new to the subject, ELVTR and the instructor created a great introduction to the work and exposure to other professionals (there was a choice to join breakout rooms every session). As someone who is not entry level (but not senior), I leaned on case studies and resources provided mainly by the instructor, but also by fellow classmates. This course would have received 5 stars, but some personal pain points: the instructor is on the west coast of the U.S., and I'm on the east - therefore, the start & end times were later than I would have preferred (and I often chose not to remain on zoom for extended discussion because it was nearing 10pm for me). Assignments don't quite line up to each session, and after the course ends, there were still assignments to submit (also not ideal). I also felt personally overwhelmed by using both Google Classroom and Discord, and would have preferred to stick to one channel. Aside from these things, I enjoyed the course and would recommend the course and ELVTR in general to colleagues and anyone interested.

Great course if you are interested in learning Art Direction specifically for the advertising industry. The class is designed to build on each previous lesson while the homework assignments help reinforce these lessons. Joel is an inviting teacher whose enthusiasm makes learning fun!
