Recommending a GLP-1 Telehealth Clinic -
Update: The previous positive review needs to be seriously updated: Eli Lilly sent out an announcement that indicated concerns regarding the compounding of Tirzepatide with B12. NIH also issued a warning. Called Elixa MD. Wanted the medication WITHOUT the b12. Had an appt yesterday with a provider, who understood the issue and prescribed Zepbound (brand, without b12). Got the follow up notes, which indicated that Zepbound was NOT prescribed and instead the compounded Tirzepatide with B12 was prescribed. Called again. Was told I needed to make appt with another provider. Customer service was useless. This morning I was called by a provider who looked at the notes and said she couldn't prescribe the Zepbound as it was not in ElixaMd's formulary, and there was no option to prescribe the Tirzepatide without the B12. Called the prescribing pharmacy, Beaker Pharmacy in Tx, they explained that they dispense, but do not compound the medication - it comes with B12. They suggested I call Open Loop which sends the medication to Beaker to dispense. They escalated the issue and I am expecting a call back from them today. FYI: In calling Elixa MD, I discovered that it is impossible to speak to a supervisor/manager. It is likely that the customer service people are not in the US, and are simply a call center with no contact directly with ElixaMD, and for whom English is clearly NOT their first language. With all the GLP -1 Telehealth options, it's easy to get lost and frustrated - prices are all over, sites are less than clear, and I've already had to negotiate a complete refund with another company that sent sugar pills. ElixaMD HAD been close to perfect. I had called them after reading an Eli Lilly letter that expressed concerns over the possible interactions between compounded Tirzepatide and Vitamin B12 to ask that my RX NOT include the B12. They were quick to assure me, the rx was cancelled immediately and a new rx without the B12 was sent. IT WAS NOT. THE PRESCRIPTION I RECEIVED HAD B12, I
