Dear Hank: Our Beeswax ear plug needs to be (kneaded or worked) between one's fingers or hands for 20-30 seconds before inserting. Secondly the customer needs to either use the whole ear plug or pinch off some to create the PERFECT size for their individual ear canal. This is not a cheap parafin wax. This is an expensive pure filtered Beeswax that can be re-used between 30 and 50 times or more. You have got a very fine ear plug there. You just need to know how to use it. Give it a Fair Test Hank!
