I suffer from needing total silence at night while I sleep. The sound of my wife snoring or dogs moving around wakes me up and disturbs a deep sleep that is needed to function in a stressful world. I work heavy construction so have access to many types of earplugs. The Natural Ear Plugs are by far the most sound dampening and the most confrontable ear plugs that I have ever used. I have been using them for about 5 years now and will use them for the rest of my life. If you have not tried them you need to it is worth the money. Like I did try and two pack at the least and I bet you are hooked for life.

Doesn't cut out whistling
I purchased these earplugs after reading lots of positive reviews. My husband has last stage dementia and tunelessly whistles continuously. Unfortunately, the earplugs do not cancel this noise so it's back to lollies, straws in drinks etc to give me a break! I assume therefore that the earplugs do not cut out high pitched noise. This review is about the product, not about the company.

O.K., Now here comes the GOOD NEWS!
This fine ear plug will (((easily))) cancel and block out high frequencies and whistling. It is obvious to us that you have not inserted the ear plug correctly enough for it to (SEAL) the ear canal.
Please follow the instruction below (exactly), and you will be very pleased with the result:
1. Just as you are about to insert it, take ONE ear plug and {work it or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and seals it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and ready to insert, it doesn't matter what shape it is; round, flat , long or narrow; just follow the next step.
2. Using the tip of your index finger, push the ear plug FIRMLY, & FLATTEN it, (IN and AGAINST) your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD SEAL).
IMPORTANT: If it doesn't seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will seal well.
3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & sealing the ear canals; now listen; you’ll hear very little or more likely no sound at all. It even gets better each time you wear them.
4. To Remove: Simply pinch the ear plug with your thumb & index finger and gently pull downward and out.

Worst earplugs ever.
These earplugs felt clammy and sticky. They did not conform to my ear. They smell terrible. I could still hear everything going on around me. I would not buy them again or rec8ommend them to my friends.
Update: This is in response to your answer to my review of your earplugs. I am not stupid. I did read and follow the instructions exactly as stated. I stand by my review. I, personally, hated your product. I am insulted that rather than respect my opinion, you assume I must not have used the earplugs correctly. Everyone is different. I did not like your product and I am entitled to my opinion. Thank you.

We are aware that we cannot please (everyone), and yet we know from all the feedback, that our soft and moldable earplug is simple and pleasing to (almost) everyone; and yet it can be confusing to the few.

J. Taylor, the ingredients are all natural, Beeswax, Lanolin, Cotton; and they need to be assimilated or combined by simply (working or kneading) through one's fingers for at least 15 seconds before inserting them.
The kneading disburses all the ingredients so that they do not feel sticky, and being (soft and moldable), they easily conform to the ear, seal it and block out MUCH. Most people overwhelmingly LOVE the smell of beeswax, yet we accept that you do not appreciate the scent of beeswax.

J. Taylor, before giving up, just once more; knead the ear plugs for 15 seconds to make them soft and moldable. Then insert them. If the scent of Beeswax is not appealing to you, you can apply just ONE drop of an essential oil to the ear plug, like lavender ect ect.

Earplugs
Afraid I was disappointed with the earplugs purchased from yourselves.I ended with loads of earplug under my finger nails.I tried to remove them slowly as advised but where they were so soft from the heat they just fell apart.They also did not shut out noise as well as I hoped.

Pulling the ear plug apart is not easy, for the ear plug is held together very well with strong cotton fibers and beeswax.
All us gals in the office also have long finger nails, and we wear the same ear plug nightly. For us. it is easy now; for we figured out how to remove the ear plug using our finger nails.
Christine, there is no need to push the ear plug deep into the ear canal. Just flatten it against your ear opening (until you feel the ear plug seal the ear). It will do the job.

These do not stop sound, waste of my money.
I bought these because of the advertisement of total blackout of sound. They took 2.5 weeks to arrive and did not block sound. This was a big waste of my money.
I will not reccommend them.
Sorry, but I did not have good success even after following Mary's advice.
Nothing personal but I find the clear sticky latex work best.
No hard feelings ok?!
