I am a very light sleeper and have tried a variety of earplugs with very little success. That is before I discovered these earplugs made by Beneficial Products. They are very comfortable as they mold naturally to your ear shape. They block noise that has previously made sleep impossible.

Dear N. Moore: If you are feeling residue from the Lanolin, it is because you didn't (work or knead) the ear plugs through your fingers or hands,( sufficiently ) for 20 seconds, just prior to inserting them. Kneading them would have completely disbursed the Lanolin throughout the ear plugs better. N. Moore, we've sent you the BEST ultra-high blocking ear plug in the world. This is TOO GOOD an ear plug to not let it prove itself to you. You'll be pleasantly surprised how well it will do the job and the Lanolin is good for human skin. It literally nurtures the skin! The ear plugs are fairly easy to use but they do not really form a firm seal on the ear canal, allowing in some noise (including the dog claws on my ceiling which is why I purchased them). I may not be using them absolutely correctly but I am doing my best. I do wonder if they are good for your ears; they have a slight smell and I don't know if they leave residue or anything on your ears -- is one supposed to wash one's ears out? Not sure why "friction" is mentioned with these stars; no friction involved here!

Dear Judy,, They will form a PERFECT COMPLETE SEAL and easily block out the noisy dog claws on the ceiling!!!! Regarding the fragrance, it is Beeswax; and most find it very pleasant!!! Judy, please follow the insertion instruction below (exactly). You'll be very very happy you did. 1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 20 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and SEALS it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and the Lanolin is disbursed throughout the ear plug, then they are ready to insert. It doesn't matter what shape it is; round, flat, long or narrow; just follow the next step. 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push FIRMLY& FLATTEN the ear plug IN and AGAINST your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD SEAL!) If it doesn't seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will SEAL well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & sealing the ear canals, you’ll notice a HUGE improvement. 4. To Remove: Simply pinch the ear plug with your thumb & index finger and gently pull downward and out. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work it or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and seals it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and ready to insert, it doesn't matter what shape it is; round, flat, long or narrow; just follow the next step. If you are going to pinch off to make a smaller ear plug, then now is the time. 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push FIRMLY & FLATTEN the ear plug IN and AGAINST your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD SEAL!) If it doesn't SEAL immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will SEAL well. 3. I am able to get a good night's rest without hearing any noise from the heating system in my apartment. When others party into the night I can go to sleep. The only draw back is they itch sometimes when you first put them in. I'm still very happy with them.

I live next to the 405 freeway in Los Angeles .. the traffic never stops and at night i was having trouble tuning it all out .. NO it does not sound like a river running gently through the night , nor is it white noise .. it is the FREEWAY !! BUT then i tried mighty plugs .. WOW .. sweet dreams!

I like the ideal of these ear plugs alot, that is why I spent almost $20 CDN on 2 sets. Upon trying the ear plugs on I noticed they do the same as most every plug out there, fall out! I am a bit disappointed they do not fit my ears better than that as they are said to be the "best plug" out there....I have issues with ear plugs staying properly in my small female ears, this poses as a big issue with my motorcycling as I am extremely limited to ear plug options.

Dear Mary: YOUR SUPPOSED TO PINCH OFF a little ear plug material and insert a smaller ear plug !!! Many women with smaller ear canals do not insert the whole ear plug; for just after they have kneaded the ear plug to make it soft & moldable, they pinch off at least (a third), and insert a smaller ear plug that fits their ear canal better, is more comfortable, seals easier and blocks out better. Mary, please follow the instructions below exactly and you'll be grateful you did !! 1. Not only were these earplugs inexpensive- not only were they delivered quickly- but they're by far the best sound-cancelling earplugs which I've ever had the pleasure of sticking in my ears!
