I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Dutch. Within the first day of becoming a customer, my senior dog, was evaluated by a veterinarian and I was informed that medication would be prescribed as part of his treatment plan. However, the prescription was never completed or made available despite being discussed during the appointment.
I promptly contacted the veterinarian and requested clarification regarding the missing medication. My messages went unanswered, and no effort was made to correct the issue or provide an update.
As a result, my dog experienced an unnecessary delay in care while I waited for a response that never came.
The failure to complete the prescribed treatment plan, combined with the lack of communication and follow-up, raises serious concerns regarding the quality of care and oversight provided by this service. Pet owners rely on veterinary professionals to provide timely treatment and accurate prescription management. In my case, neither occurred.
Because of Dutch's failure to provide the care that was represented during the appointment, I lost confidence in the service and was forced to seek veterinary care elsewhere to ensure my dog received appropriate treatment. The entire experience has left me questioning whether customer care and patient welfare are truly priorities, or whether collecting payment takes precedence over delivering promised services.
Given that the agreed-upon treatment plan was not properly executed and no meaningful resolution was provided, I believe a full refund is warranted. After only one day as a customer, this experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and unacceptable.

Absolutely do not recommend.
Absolutely do not recommend this service. I signed up and the very first time I needed to have my dog seen it turned into a nightmare. The vet ordered a RX for an infection on the back of my dog's neck and despite DAILY ASSURANCES that the RX was on its way I sit here almost a week later STILL WAITING for it to be shipped. They are the most incompetent people on the market.

If I could give less than 1 star…
If I could give less than 1 star I would. I received a vet 10 min consult for a Tick&Flea prescription on FRIDAY... You are forced to buy things from their website so they can charge "pharmacy processing" charges, however, it has been a week and the order hasn't even put on the mail. So we are talking about you getting your meds after 10 business days if you are lucky.
Response from Dutch VetJun 12, 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are truly sorry to hear about the delay with your order. We completely understand how frustrating it is to wait on medication your pet needs and we apologize that this experience did not meet your expectations.
We do want to clarify that you are never required to purchase through Dutch. You always have the option to have your prescription transferred to a local pharmacy of your choice at no obligation. We are sorry if that was not made clear during your experience.
We also want to make sure you are aware that we offer several shipping options and speeds at checkout, including Rush shipping which arrives in 1 to 2 days and Priority shipping which arrives in 2 to 3 days, so you have the flexibility to get your pet's medications as quickly as you need them.
We would love to look into your order further and make this right. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and our team will make this a priority for you.

Misled about being easy to book a vet…
Misled about being easy to book a vet call at convenient times. Misled about getting simple prescriptions for flea/tick/heart worm medications. Will accept payments for things with the understanding it won’t send until you have a virtual vet call, except they leave out the fact some states don’t allow virtual prescriptions, like Wisconsin. So do a little research prior to just accepting that all of the things they say they can do actually apply to your situation.
Response from Dutch VetJun 12, 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are truly sorry for the confusion and frustration this caused. You are right that prescription availability varies by state, and in Wisconsin there are limitations on what we are able to prescribe virtually.
We do want to note that our sign up process does require you to input your state and outlines the services available in your area before proceeding to purchase.
We also want to make sure you are aware that even in Wisconsin your membership still gives you access to order over the counter products as well as unlimited vet advice appointments. We hope that still brings some value to you and your pet.
If you have any additional questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] or call/text 1-855-DR-DUTCH and our team will be happy to assist you.

I had my visit with the vet online
I had my visit with the vet online, she was pleasant and helpful. She advised that my cat was having a bad reaction to the fleas and gave me a prescription for something that helps senior cats and appetite stimulant. I paid for expedited shipping and they sent it regular through the USPS. This was 5/31. I am still waiting for the prescription! They have told me that it should arrive by Wednesday, tomorrow and let them know if it doesn’t. My cat is miserable! She’s not hardly eating and loosing weight every day, but the time I actually get the medication I might not have a cat!
If they really cared about pets not just profits, they would send me new medicine and overnight it just for the stress this has caused me and my cat!
1 out of 5, I do NOT recommend Dutch, and I have whole year subscription too 😭
I hope someone sees this and doesn’t waste their money!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we are so sorry to hear about the distress this has caused both you and your cat. We completely understand how stressful and heartbreaking this situation must be, and we want you to know our team is actively working on this.
To provide some transparency: your order was placed on 6/1 and shipped on 6/2, however it unfortunately experienced delays with USPS that were outside of our control. We sincerely apologize that this has impacted your cat's care — that is never acceptable to us.
Because of these delays, we have issued a full refund on your order and also offered the option to transfer your prescription to a local pharmacy so you can get your cat the medication she needs as quickly as possible. We want to make sure that option is still on the table for you if you'd like to move forward with it.
We also want to gently remind you that Dutch is not an emergency or urgent care service. If your cat's condition is worsening , we strongly encourage you to visit an in-person veterinarian as soon as possible to ensure she gets the immediate care she may need.
We are doing everything we can to help resolve this situation and truly care about your cat's wellbeing. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team directly so we can continue working with you to make this right.

I would strongly caution anyone against
I would strongly caution anyone against relying on Dutch for medications that your pet truly depends on.
My dog’s allergy medication was lost in transit, leaving him without treatment for over a week. During that time, his condition worsened significantly—constant itching, chewing at his paws, and a spreading rash. I contacted Dutch multiple times, explained the situation, and repeatedly asked for help.
What was most disappointing was the complete lack of urgency. I offered to pay for expedited shipping and requested escalation to a supervisor. Instead, I was told to wait for a standard replacement shipment or purchase another prescription myself, despite never receiving the original medication.
Communication was poor, responses were slow, and no meaningful solution was offered. When the replacement was finally sent, it was shipped using standard delivery despite my repeated requests for expedited shipping due to my dog’s worsening condition.
I understand that shipping issues happen. What I cannot understand is treating a lost prescription medication the same way you would treat any ordinary retail package.
I entrusted Dutch with my dog’s health, and they treated it like a piece of clothing I did not receive in the mail.
If your pet relies on timely medication, I would think carefully before using this service.
UPDATE: their reply below is not true.
I did end up receiving one free month of his meds but it didn’t change that there was no sense of urgency once it was clear that the medication was lost in the mail. (Mind you insured by Dutch as well, so they probably got their money back) as a matter of fact, I put in a ticket with USPS about the lost mail and they were prompt about getting me the lost mail.
They also did not ever transfer anything to Costco. Another lie. They just kept replying- 24 hours later- that it would be quicker to rush shipping.
I ordered the 3rd medication and paid for the rush shipping, just so they could all arrive one the 11th. An entire week without these meds for my dog means a lot. His body is completely destroyed from this.
They did not care and their reply to this shows even more they just do not care.
Don’t lie, Dutch. Lesson learned though. I will always have that “free” replacement meds that were sent as standard shipping in case this ever happens again because we are on our own when it comes to my dog apparently.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the stress and frustration this situation caused for both you and your dog. We completely understand how difficult it is to watch your pet suffer without their necessary medication, and we want to provide full transparency on what took place.
Your original order was placed on May 27th, 2026 and shipped on May 28th with standard 4 to 7 day shipping. Unfortunately, this shipment appears to have been initially lost with USPS, which is something we take very seriously. We want to clarify that our team did work diligently with you throughout this process to find a resolution.
When you reached out, we arranged a replacement order at no cost to you on June 8th. Another order was also placed on your end for an additional bottle with free rush shipping via FedEx, and separately transferred a prescription to Costco for you as well. All shipments were delivered on June 11th, 2026.
We do want to address your concern about expedited shipping on the replacement. We understand how urgently you needed the medication and we truly empathize with that. However, due to the nature of prescription medication, pharmacies are required to confirm that a shipment is lost with the carrier before issuing a replacement. This policy exists to prevent the unintentional duplication of controlled or regulated medications and is not within our discretion to bypass. We recognize this is deeply frustrating when your pet is suffering, and we are sorry the reasoning was not communicated more clearly or compassionately in the moment.
At this time, it does appear that you have received a total of 4 bottles of this medication between the original order, the replacement, the additional rush shipment, and the Costco transfer. We hope your dog is feeling much better and that his symptoms are now well managed.
We hear your feedback regarding communication and urgency, and we will use this experience to continue improving how we support our customers during difficult situations. We truly care about your dog's health and are glad we were ultimately able to get him the care he needed. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our team directly if there is anything further we can do for you.

The vet was great but I am still waiting for the meds I ordered
The vet was great but I am still waiting for 2/3 of my cat's medication almost a week later, even after paying $15 extra for "Express" shipping!
Response from Dutch VetJun 12, 2026
Thank you for the kind words about your vet visit and we are sorry to hear about the delay with your cat's medications, especially after paying for express shipping. That is not the experience we want for you and we completely understand your frustration.
We have reached out here to get the email on your account so we can look into this further and get some answers for you. In the meantime please also feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] or call/text 1-855-DR-DUTCH and our team will make this a priority. We want to get your cat her medications as quickly as possible!

Missing Rx for Pet with Stage 4 lung cancer
June 1 Review:
Stage 4 lung cancer without critical meds for 4 days.
I am completely heartbroken by the severe lack of care, accountability, and basic communication from Dutch. My cat, Tazra, is critically ill with stage 4 cancer. Following her appointment on Thursday, May 28, her aftercare plan explicitly required two life-sustaining medications: a steroid and a diuretic (Lasix).
When I logged into the portal, only the steroid had been prescribed. When I flagged that the life-critical diuretic was missing, the doctor claimed she had sent it to a "local pharmacy." The problem? I had never provided a local pharmacy name or address, and she never specified where she sent it.
Because Dutch is completely unreachable over the weekend, I was left entirely helpless. It is now Monday afternoon—four full days after her appointment—and despite sending urgent messages and calls, nobody has responded to me. I still do not have my dying cat's medication.
Dr. Vasani and the Dutch care team knew exactly how fragile Tazra’s condition is, yet they treated her life-dependent prescription with reckless oversight and have now ignored my urgent pleas for help. If you have a pet with a critical or complex illness, do not trust this service. Their systemic failure and utter lack of urgency are a danger to vulnerable animals.
June 2 Review Update:
Another breakdown in communication across Dutch care teams. The vet communicated the after-care plan directly via chat message and I responded with the pharmacy info in the chat.
There was no mention that follow-up communication would be outside this channel. Ideally, pharmacy info should have been collected 1) at pet profile creation or minimally 2) during the vet appointment March 28.
Dutch's June 2 reply suggests a further lack of coordination as the Transfer Team contacted me yesterday. The high priority med (Lasix) was picked shortly thereafter and my pet has already had her 2nd dose as I update this review.
Lastly, Walgreens does not carry the Rx in the required 10 mg/ml dosage. I also added this info to the chat message as well as the Safeway pharmacy info after calling the pharmacy myself and confirming they had the meds in stock and just needed the Rx.
Response from Dutch VetJun 2, 2026
We are so sorry for the stress and worry this experience has caused, especially while caring for Tazra during such a difficult time. We'd like to walk through what we have on file. After Tazra's appointment on May 28th, the vet reached out asking for your local pharmacy details before sending the after-call summary and treatment expectations. When those details weren't received, they followed up again on May 30th, and the Walgreens information was provided at that point. From our records, it doesn't look like there was an additional update from the vet after that, and we will absolutely provide feedback to them on this. A new appointment was scheduled in June with a different vet, and the transfer was called in to Walgreens on June 1st. The pharmacy had to order the medication since it was out of stock, and it's showing as ready for pickup today, June 2nd. If you need anything further, please reach out to [email protected].
