Terrible Customer Service
I’ve got to say, I had high hopes for this company initially. That quickly fell apart.
After placing my first order, I noticed that my old address was listed as the destination. I quickly…within 2 minutes of the transaction, placed a call to their “Customer Service” department. Say what you want about call centers, but my representative didn’t speak English as a first language. I conveyed my change of address, and I kid you not, this took 25 minutes of back and forth and me being placed on “a brief hold.” The rep’, despite the investment in time and energy on the phone, never changed my address and now, I have to go to my old house that’s 45 minutes away to pick up my cats medication. They certainly lost my patronage.
TLDR: Company sent my cats food and medication to my old address, losing a customer in the process.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry to learn about the difficulties you encountered with your order and the address change. It is concerning that the address was not updated after your call to customer service, and we understand the frustration this situation has caused, especially regarding your cat's medication. We are reviewing our processes to prevent similar issues in the future.

Rapid vet , but poor pharmacy service
I paid for the service and you can get a vet visit very rapidly but it’s been a week now and we have not got the medicine for my dogs ear and it’s ridiculous. It takes that long to send some ear medicine after a vet visit. I’ve asked them to call it into my local pharmacy and it’s just crickets. They don’t care if the dog is suffering they want to sell you something.
Response from Dutch VetJun 28, 2026
We are truly sorry to hear about the delay in receiving your dog's ear medicine and the lack of communication regarding the pharmacy. We understand your frustration and are actively looking into this matter to ensure a prompt resolution for your pet's well-being. We have reached out to you directly to ensure that we make this right for you and get your dog's medications ASAP.

Save your money
Dutch is no more than an online pharmacy. The doctors do not care and will not put much of any effort other then to try to push costly drugs that do not work. If all you need is medication and know what meds you need and Dutch is the cheaper option go ahead and use it, but if you honestly believe this is some vet service and will diagnose you’re pet and give you a meaning treatment plan your batshit crazy. Save your time, your money and your pet… go see a real life vet.
Response from Dutch VetJun 28, 2026
Thank you for sharing your candid feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations for comprehensive veterinary care. Their customer service department doesn’t exist.
Their customer service department is non-existent. I called 5 times and was on a hold queue for 10minutes, sent to voicemail each time, no call back. Sent emails, no response. My Rx can’t be completed by my pharmacy and no one is available to help me transfer it to another pharmacy or assist in anything for that matter because it’s Saturday and as a company who offers 24/7 care, their customer service department is closed for the weekend. I will be going through charge disputes to get what I spent back, because I can’t even get a hold of someone to help me cancel my service.
Update: Dutch has time to review and respond to this request however my emails have still gone unanswered and I have not received a callback. The vet I’m working with responded in the chat and was more helpful than she had to be (she shouldn’t have to help me chase down a Rx, she should have a team supporting her once her assessment and treatment plans are issued.

Started out great, utterly collapsed and failed to deliver
(updated review)
tldr; Dutch started out great but ending up failing big time due to obvious technology deficiencies
This was my very first interaction with Dutch. Started off great, had a virtual vet visit at 10:20am today with Dr. Brooke and she was great. My dog has an acute issue and is in pain. Dr. Brooke prescribed 2 drugs (Promace and Gabapentin). She said I could get the prescriptions transferred to a human-pharmacy for pickup. So far, so good.
I couldn't find any information on the Dutch website about how to transfer the prescriptions. I called Customer Support and spoke with a nice guy who told me that he would send me an email with a link to the prescription-transfer process. OK. I waited an hour, still hadn't received the email, so I called back. Spoke with another very nice individual (Jicon, might have been the same guy, I don't remember) who apologized for my not receiving any email; he sent me an email and stayed with me on the phone while I followed the process to transfer the prescription to a pharmacy. He told me COSTCO was the fastest pharmacy to use as they have a special arrangement with Dutch where the prescriptions transfer electronically quickly. So, with his help, I completed the transfer of the prescriptions to a nearby COSTCO. By then it was 12:30pm or so.
I received an automated text message from COSTCO around 1pm informing me that they had received the prescription transfer and were working on it. Soon thereafter, I received another automated text message from COSTCO informing me that they were out of Promace. I went back into the Dutch website and sent a message to Dr. Brooke asking if there was another substitute drug she could prescribe -- Dr. Brooke responded very promptly and assured me that due to the fact that I had some Tradezone on-hand from a prior issue, the Promace was not that important and that the Gabapentin alone (plus the Tradazone I already have) would be enough for the issue. That was helpful.
I hadn't heard anything from COSTCO about the Gabapentin so around 2pm I called COSTCO and spoke with the pharmacist. She informed me that COSTCO had only received a prescription for Promace; she said they had not received a prescription for Gabapentin. I called Dutch but couldn't get through to anyone; left a voicemail. I sent Dutch a text message (to the same helpdesk number) but received no response (not even an automated response letting me know my message was in the queue).
So by 3:30pm having not heard any response from Dutch, I sent an email to Dutch. About 20 minutes later, I received an email response from Dutch (Alvers) apologizing for the problems and assuring me that he would be monitoring the transfer and let me know as soon as the transfer went through. It is now 6pm and I have not heard anything from Dutch.
I called COSTCO again shortly before 5pm to double-check and they said they still hadn't received the prescription for Gabapentin. The COSTCO pharmacist suggested I ask Dutch if they could provide me with a physical (I guess, printable) prescription I could physically bring into the store. I emailed Dutch again shortly before 5pm checking on status of the transfer and asking if Dutch could provide a printable prescription that I could take to the pharmacy.
It is now almost 6pm and I have not received any response from Dutch. My dog is in pain and the window for getting this prescription filled is closing as the COSTCO pharmacy will close in a couple of hours. My wife is upset that I trusted this to Dutch instead of a brick-and-mortar vet and now she's soured on the entire Dutch system.
I called Dutch again at 6pm, got in touch with (another) nice customer support person who promised to get on the phone with COSTO and sort this out while I remained on hold until it was resolved. Hopeful, I patiently waited listening to the Dutch phone system hold music ... until their phone system automatically disconnected the call!
At 6:45pm I finally received a call from Costco informing me that the Dutch vet who prescribed Gabapentin was not licensed in my state to do so. This apparently took 8 hours to figure out, while my dog suffered.
So, what started out great completely collapsed when it came to actually getting an important prescription filled. Not what I was counting on when I signed up for Dutch 6 months ago -- the first time I needed to use it, it failed.
It's a great concept. Clearly the data and technology platform that Dutch is using is not robust enough to be relied upon.

Dutch allowed us to quickly schedule a virtual vet visit with a friendly, knowledgeable vet who was able to quickly understand the issue we were having with our pet dog and help us formulate a plan for resolving them. Very pleased with our first experience using Dutch and would definitely recommend them.

I needed Itranfungol for three cats
I needed Itranfungol for three cats. Only one bottle was sent, I needed two, to complete one week. I called and was told the bottle would be sent out on a Friday-and arrive on Monday- and interrupting my first week already by a day. But instead, it was sent out on Monday, arriving on Wednesday. Instead of 2 bottles, again, I received 1 bottle. Absolutely useless! Doesn't matter how often I call and email. No repone to emails
