Not what I hoped For. Be Wary
I signed up for Dutch because I have three dogs and where I live it's often difficult to find appointments with vets when I need it, often leading me to pay for an emergency visit that is almost always never warranted. I had a visit with a vet yesterday because of the arthritis in my dogs leg was becoming painful for her the current meds aren't enough. To make matters worse, my vet suddenly passed away three days ago, so I had no idea what to do. He owns the practice so I don't know what is going to happen with my vet care. The visit was somewhat helpful once I was able to get past the language barrier. She recommended I give my dog gabapentin which I had some on hand. She also recommended a veterinary prescription supplement. It was then that she said she didn't know if she could fill a prescription for my dog because of where I live. BE AWARE OF THIS BEFORE signing up. I did not see any disclosure about that when I signed up. Maybe I missed it, maybe not. The result is that she put the supplements in my dogs chart that I could order but it's going to take a week to get here and is not available at Chewy or any other online service. She sent me a message telling me she can't prescribe the gabapentin because of where I live and to find a new vet. Are you kidding me? My vet DIED. I have NO IDEA if I even need to find a new vet yet as I don't know if the practice will continue or not without him. He JUST DIED THREE DAYS AGO. Establishing care with a new vet will be costly so while this visit with the Dutch vet got my dog out of pain temporarily because I had the meds on hand, I'm left twisting in the wind trying to figure out what to do with her. What is also frustrating is they keep sending me emails to refill the Simparico for my dogs but they're not allowed to fill it because of where I live, so I still need to go to my vet for this preventative care. BUYER BEWARE. Dutch, please stop bombarding my inbox with refill reminders for Simparico that I can't even get from you. You need to be more transparent with folks when they sign up
